LebTown is featuring a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
This week’s pet is Sammy, owned by Emily Collins.
Sammy is the unofficial mascot of the Lebanon County Conservation District, where his human works. “Sammy loves the days he gets to come to work with Emily,” said LCCD Administrative Assistant Valarie Weaber, who nominated Sammy. Unsurprisingly, this Yorkie is “a favorite of everyone in the office.”
Sammy is relatable as well — his favorite past-time is eating, and in true Lebanon County fashion, he finds plenty of people wanting to feed him at the office.
“He checks in with Stephanie, (me), and Karl often to make sure he gets his treats,” said Valarie. “When he’s not begging for food, he sleeps quietly under Emily’s desk and occasionally helps out around the office.”
He’s also always happy to celebrate a staff birthday, especially that of his owner, Collins (pictured below).
Sammy isn’t afraid to put in some hard work either, according to the LCCD staff who knows him. “He comes prepared for staff meetings with his notebook and pen,” said Weaber.
And, in case you were wondering, his efforts are paying off. A source told us that Sammy received “excellent” in all areas during his most recent annual evaluation.
Congratulations, Sammy! Keep up the great work.
