Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 15, 2020 at 7:45 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1 was traveling southbound on Airport Rd. near 283 Airport Rd. in Bethel Twp. Unit 1 struck a garbage can on the right shoulder of the roadway. Operator 1 fled from the scene of the crash. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Trooper Lear.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 22, 2020 at 12:14 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2011 General Motors Corp Acadia, driven by Operator 1, a 40 year old Brooklyn, NY man, accompanied by six Passengers, was traveling south on the Exit 85 off-ramp in East Hanover Twp. Passenger 1 was a 39 year old Brooklyn, NY woman. Passenger 2 was a 36 year old Brooklyn, NY man. Passenger 3 was a 14 year old Brooklyn, NY male. Passenger 4 was a 14 year old Brooklyn, NY female. Passenger 5 was a 13 year old Corona, NY female. Passenger 6 was a 15 year old Brooklyn, NY female.

Unit 1 was negotiating a right-hand curve in the roadway when, for an unknown reason, Unit 1’s front driver’s side tire failed. Operator 1 lost control of Unit 1, causing Unit 1 to exit the roadway, where it rolled over approximately 360 degrees.

Unit 1 sustained damage to the front, side, and roof. Operator 1 and all Passengers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of this crash. Multiple airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Passenger 2 and Passenger 3 did sustain minor injuries and were transported to the Hershey Medical Center. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Motter’s Towing. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Life Lion Ambulance Co., Northern Lebanon fire/police, Ft. Indiantown Gap police department, and Motter’s Towing.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident, Driving On Roadways Laned For Traffic – On Sept. 13, 2020 at 1:25 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 1988 Grumman LLV, driven by Operator 1, a 64 year old Palmyra man, was traveling west on Reistville Rd. While negotiating a left-hand curve, Unit 1 veered off the roadway from the north shoulder. Operator 1 attempted to counter-steer, causing Unit 1 to roll over one time before coming to its position of final rest on its roof, facing a northeast direction in the east travel lane. Unit 1 sustained damage to the front, roof, and right side. Operator 1 was wearing a seatbelt when this crash occurred. No airbags were deployed in Unit 1 as a result of this crash. Operator 1 sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Hershey Medical Center for further evaluation via Schaefferstown EMS. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Gilles Miller Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

North Cornwall Township

Fleeing And Eluding – The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the following incident: On Sept. 24, 2020 at approximately 12:15 p.m., a traffic stop was attempted on a vehicle on PA 72 and York St. for numerous traffic violations. Upon activation of the emergency lights and sirens, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed toward Lebanon City, continuing to commit numerous traffic violations. The Operator of the vehicle attempted to make a right turn onto Church St. in Lebanon City and struck a telephone pole, subsequently fleeing the disabled vehicle on foot. Through investigative means, the Operator of the vehicle has been identified and charges are pending. The Arrestee was a 35 year old Lebanon man. The vehicle involved was a 2001 Honda Civic.

North Lebanon Township

Drug Possession – Michael Gerhart, a 29 year old Jonestown resident, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia after a stop on Sept. 15, 2020, on Tunnel Hill Rd.

Retail Theft – A 38 year old Lebanon woman was charged with Retail Theft at the Lebanon Wal-Mart as a result of an incident that occurred on Sept. 20, 2020, after failing to pay for $328 worth of merchandise.

North Londonderry Township

Retail Theft – North Londonderry Twp. police cited a 17 year old Annville female with a summary Retail Theft after it was reported that she failed to scan 14 items valued at $95.52 at the Palmyra Wal-Mart on Sept. 20, 2020 at 4:40 p.m.

Theft – A resident of the 600 block of Pajabon Dr. reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle which was parked in his driveway and stole two handguns with a combined value of $1,000. The theft occurred sometime late Sept. 23, 2020 or early Sept. 24, 2020. The North Londonderry Twp. police once again remind everyone to lock their vehicle doors and encourage them not to leave valuable items (especially guns) in vehicles parked outside overnight. Police were able to determine the serial numbers of the stolen guns which were entered into NCIC.

Swatara Township

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 28, 2020 at 4:41 p.m., this crash occurred on Darkes Rd. just west of Mountain Dr. in Swatara Twp. While traveling east on Darkes Rd., Unit 1, a 2001 Volkswagen Golf, driven by Operator 1, a 40 year old Lebanon man, exited the roadway, striking a utility pole beyond the southern shoulder of the roadway. Operator 1 fled from the scene of the crash in an unknown direction by an unknown means of travel. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by D.E. Richard Garage. Investigation is ongoing. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by members of PSP Jonestown.

Union Township

Harassment – On Sept. 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., this crime occurred on Camp Meeting Rd. when the Arrestee, a 54 year old Lebanon woman, and Victim, a 58 year old Palmyra woman, were near each other at a funeral. The Arrestee grabbed the Victim’s hand and squeezed it and subsequently bumped the Victim with her body.
