In the release Tuesday, police identified the victim as 30 year old Elena Mercado of Lebanon.

Police had previously said that Mercado and Martinez-Rivera were in a relationship prior to Saturday’s events.

Following news breaking Sunday evening regarding the incident, social media lit up with heartfelt remembrances of Mercado, a nail technician in Lebanon.

An autopsy of Mercado is being completed today, according to the release, with no autopsy planned to be performed on Martinez-Rivera.
