Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On June 26, 2021 at 2:41 p.m., this one-vehicle crash occurred in front of the residence on the 100 block of East Main St. in Bethel Twp. This crash occurred as Operator 1, a 71 year old Fredericksburg man, driving Unit 1, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, suffered an unknown type of medical episode. Operator 1 was attempting to make a lefthand turn onto Main St., subsequently drove onto the curb, and struck a fence. Operator 1 was not injured as a result of this crash but was taken via Life Lion to the Hershey Medical Center for further medical evaluation.

Identity Theft – On July 7, 2021 at 4:50 p.m., the Victim arrived at PSP Jonestown to report that his identity was used to file a fraudulent unemployment claim. The Victim related that on July 7, 2021, he was contacted by his HR department at Mattel that an unemployment claim was filed using his personal identifying information. The Victim related that his HR denied the claim immediately, and he did not suffer any monetary loss. The Victim related that he was going to process a claim through the PA Department of Labor and Industry. The Victim was provided a Victim/Witness Assistance Guide. All information shall be forwarded to Syreeta Scott, U.S. Department of Labor. The Victim was a 39 year old Fredericksburg man. The stolen property included Personal Identifying Information.

Cornwall Borough

Vehicle Accident – On June 30, 2021 at 4:55 p.m., this crash occurred on Burd Coleman Rd. at Alden St. A 72 year old Lebanon man traveled off of the roadway and struck a stop sign. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash.

Deer Struck – A 26 year old Lebanon man struck a deer on July 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. between 612 and 614 Aspen Ln. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. The vehicle sustained minor damage but was drivable.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 8, 2021 at 5:36 p.m., this single-vehicle crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2004 Freightliner Century Class ST, driven by Operator 1, a 45 year old Sandston, VA man, was traveling in the righthand lane of I 81 Southbound in the area of mile marker 84.6 in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as Operator 1 lost control of Unit 1, subsequently left the left side of the roadway, and struck the guide rail, located in the median of I 81 Southbound. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Hammers Towing Company. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 6, 2021 at 6:31 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2006 General Motors Corp 3500, driven by Operator 1, a 19 year old Warriors Mark man, and Unit 2, a 2010 Ford Edge, driven by Operator 2, a 21 year old Lebanon woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 28 year old Farmington, CT woman, were traveling southbound on SR 501 Southbound. Unit 1 was traveling behind Unit 2. Operator 1, for an unknown reason, did not observe Unit 2 stopped in the travel lane for traffic conditions ahead, causing Unit 1 to rear-end Unit 2. After impact, Unit 1 went around Unit 2 and onto the right shoulder, where it came to its position of final rest. Unit 2 came to its position of final rest, partially on the right shoulder and partially in the southbound lane. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 1 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and reported no injuries as a result of this crash. No airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was driven from the scene by Operator 1. Unit 2 was towed from the scene by Leffler’s Towing. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Trooper Price and Leffler’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.

Vehicle Accident – On July 3, 2021 at 9:49 a.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on West Main St. at its intersection with SR 501 in Heidelberg Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2018 Toyota RAV4, driven by Operator 1, an 81 year old Palmyra man, was traveling east on West Main St. and began turning left from the left turn lane to head north onto SR 501, when it was struck by Unit 2, a 2017 Volkswagen Golf, driven by Operator 2, a 49 year old Ephrata man, accompanied by Passenger 1, an 83 year old Ephrata woman. Unit 2 was traveling west on West Main St., when the front driver’s side of the vehicle struck the front driver’s side of Unit 2. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 1 were not injured as a result of this crash. Both Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed from the scene by CJ Wagner’s Towing Company. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Jackson Township

Identity Theft – On July 6, 2021 at approximately 5:02 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the 00 block of Gable Dr. in Jackson Twp. for identity theft. Through further investigation, troopers learned that an unidentified person opened an unemployment account in the Victim’s name. No monetary value was reported lost/stolen from the Victim. The U.S. Office of Inspector General Department of Labor was notified of this particular incident. The Victim was a 48 year old Myerstown woman. The stolen property included Identity Stolen For Unemployment Account. If anyone has any information pertaining to this investigation, please contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194 and reference incident number PA2021-934462.

Hit-And-Run Crash – On June 30, 2021 at 10:10 a.m., State Police responded to North Locust St. and West Lincoln Ave. for a hit-and-run crash. Through investigation, it was determined that Unit 2 was stopped at a red light at the intersection of West Lincoln Ave. and North Locust St. Unit 1 rear-ended Unit 2. Operator 1 then fled the scene in Unit 1. Anybody with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194. The vehicles involved included a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2008 Toyota Tacoma.

Identity Theft – On July 8, 2021 at 12:47 p.m., troopers were contacted by the Victim regarding a fraudulent unemployment claim made using the Victim’s personal information, including her SSN. The Victim was advised by her employer that they received an application for unemployment compensation earlier in the day. The Victim suffered no financial loss and will be completing the Identity Theft/Unemployment Fraud Form with the PA Department of Labor and Industry. All information regarding this incident was forwarded to Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Syreeta Scott, of the U.S. Department of Labor – Office of Inspector General. Anyone who has information regarding this incident or who believes they are a victim of similar circumstances is encouraged to call their local police department or closest Pennsylvania State Police Barracks. The Victim was a 27 year old Myerstown woman. The stolen property included Stolen ID For Unemployment Fraud.

Myerstown Borough

Harassment – On July 7, 2021 at 3:45 p.m., troopers responded to West Park Ave. for reported contact between an employee and resident. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the Accused kissed the Victim on the cheek and lips without asking for her consent. Appropriate charges will be filed. The Victim was a 92 year old Myerstown woman. The Arrestee was a 66 year old Lebanon man.

North Lebanon Township

Aggravated Cruelty To Animals, False Reports – Michael Skutlin, a 64 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and False Reports after an incident that occurred at his residence on March 6, 2021.

Aggravated Harassment By Prisoner – Julia Boyer, a 23 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Aggravated Harassment by Prisoner after an incident that occurred on June 25, 2021 in the 400 block of North 15th Ave. in Lebanon.

DUI – Christopher Sheller, a 51 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Driving Under the Influence after crashing into a utility pole in the 200 block of Heffelfinger Rd. on June 23, 2021.

DUI – Thomas Kuntz, a 61 year old Myerstown resident, was charged with Driving Under the Influence after being involved in a motorcycle accident on May 15, 2021 in the 100 block of Strack Dr. in Myerstown.

North Londonderry Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 4, 2021 at 4:58 a.m., this crash occurred on North Forge Rd. at Lindbergh Dr. as a vehicle driven by a 34 year old Annville man left the roadway and struck a tree. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Investigation is continuing.

Swatara Township

DUI – On July 3, 2021 at 1:07 a.m., at Behney St. and Grace Ave., a traffic stop was initiated on the Arrestee’s vehicle for a high beams headlight violation. During the traffic stop, the Arrestee admitted to consuming alcohol. The Arrestee submitted to standardized field sobriety testing and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. The Arrestee was transported to the PSP Jonestown barracks, where she submitted to a legal breath test. Charges are pending before MDJ Wolfe 52-3-03. The Arrestee was a 22 year old Lebanon woman. The vehicles involved included a 2014 Honda Civic.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 6, 2021 at 10:39 a.m., this collision occurred as Unit 1, a 2017 BMW X1, driven by Operator 1, a 66 year old Fleetwood man, Unit 2, a 2006 Freightliner Truck Tractor, driven by Operator 2, a 31 year old Miami, FL man, and Unit 3, a 2021 VLV, driven by Operator 3, a 26 year old Streetsboro, OH man, were traveling south on I 81 when Unit 1 merged into the path of Unit 2, causing Unit 2 to strike Unit 1. After impact, Unit 1 spun, where it struck Unit 3’s trailer and truck. The impact caused Unit 3’s trailer to turn onto its right side, where it came to final rest on the shoulder, partially blocking the right lane. Unit 1 traveled across three lanes of traffic, where it came to rest in the median, facing south. Unit 2 came to final rest on the shoulder, facing south. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by the North Lebanon Fire Department and Fire Police and PennDOT. Operator 1 and Operator 2 reported no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 3 reported possible injury as a result of this crash but was not transported. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Vehicle Accident – On June 30, 2021 at 9:51 p.m., this single-vehicle crash occurred on I 81 Northbound at mile marker 92.3 in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2008 Nissan Altima, driven by Operator 1, a 21 year old Laurelton, NY man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 19 year old Jamaica, NY man, was traveling in the lefthand lane of I 81 Northbound. While traveling in the lefthand lane, the vehicle caught fire. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Northern Lebanon Fire. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Blatt and Tillett Towing.

Vehicle Accident – On July 1, 2021 at 9:10 p.m., this single-vehicle crash occurred on I 81 Southbound at mile marker 88.3 in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2017 Honda Fit, driven by Operator 1, a 34 year old Knoxville, TN woman, was traveling westbound on I 81 Southbound. As Unit 1 was traversing a righthand curve, it crossed over the roadway and struck a guide rail. Unit 1 was disabled from the crash and was towed from the scene by H & S Towing. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash.

West Cornwall Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 1, 2021 at 6:31 p.m., this crash occurred on SR 322 Westbound in the 300 block. A 42 year old Ono man traveled off of the roadway and struck two telephone poles. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

West Lebanon Township

Receiving Stolen Property, Driving Without A License, Driving Under Suspension – Miguel Rojas-Marrero, a 26 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Driving Without a License, Driving Under Suspension, and other traffic violations after operating a vehicle with a stolen registration plate after a stop in the 1,800 block of Lehman St. on June 19, 2021.

Theft – Sugey Perez, a 41 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Theft by Deception after returning items that were not purchased at the Boscov’s in the Lebanon Valley Mall, totaling $296.00.
