Bethel Township
Identity Theft – On July 10, 2021 at approximately 1:34 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown responded to the PSP Jonestown Barracks for identity theft reported by a Victim who resides at the 800 block of Pine Grove Rd. in Bethel Twp. Through further investigation, troopers learned that an unidentified person opened an unemployment account in the Victim’s name. No monetary value was reported lost/stolen from the Victim. The U.S. Office of Inspector General Department of Labor was notified of this particular incident. If anyone has any information pertaining to this investigation, please contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194 and reference incident number PA2021-950101. The Victim was a 48 year old Fredericksburg woman. The stolen property included the Victim’s Personal Info Used For Unemployment Benefits.
Cornwall Borough
Vehicle Accident – On July 9, 2021 at 7:09 p.m., this crash occurred on SR 322 at Penryn Ln. Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, an 87 year old Lebanon woman, exited Penryn Ln. and pulled into the path of Unit 2, driven by Operator 2, a 56 year old Schereville, IN man. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were both towed from the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash.
East Hanover Township
Vehicle Accident – On July 11, 2021 at 5:45 p.m., this single-vehicle crash occurred on I 81 South at mile marker 84.7 in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2003 Jeep Liberty, driven by Operator 1, a 24 year old Camp Hill woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 20 year old Hellam man, was traveling in the right lane after merging onto the highway. As Operator 1 attempted to gain speed, she lost control and the vehicle spun out of control, traveled into the left lane, left the roadway, and struck the cable guide rail in the left median, where it came to final rest. Operator 1 and Passenger 1 did not report any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.
Vehicle Accident – On July 12, 2021 at 4:54 a.m., this crash occurred on the property located on the 10,800 block of Jonestown Rd. in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as evidence observed on scene is consistent with Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, attempting a right turn from the driveway on the above-listed property to travel west on Jonestown Rd. While completing the right turn, Unit 1 struck a utility pole, causing the pole to become dislodged from the ground and shear in half. Unit 1 proceeded to flee the scene in an unknown direction with presumed passenger’s side damage. It is unknown whether Operator 1 or any additional passengers of Unit 1 sustained any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Turning Movements and Required Signals.
Heidelberg Township
DUI – On June 10, 2021 at 5:53 p.m., troopers responded to Carpenter St. and Oak St. for a two-vehicle crash. During the investigation, the Arrestee displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently placed into custody for suspicion of DUI. Appropriate charges are to be filed. The Arrestee was Justin Schlappich, a 38 year old Myerstown man. The Victim was a 27 year old Myerstown woman. The vehicles involved included a 2012 Honda Civic and a 2016 Jeep Chrysler.
Jackson Township
Identity Theft – On July 6, 2021 at 2:58 p.m., State Police responded to Bradford Cir. for identity theft. Through investigation, it was determined that an unknown individual filed a fraudulent claim for unemployment benefits using the Victim’s information. The Victim was made aware of this incident when her employer (ELCO School District) contacted her on the above date and informed her of it. The Victim reported no financial loss as a result of this incident. The Victim was advised to complete an unemployment fraud form with the Department of Labor and Industry. Syreeta Scott, U.S. Department of Labor, was advised of this incident on the above date via email. The Victim was a 62 year old Myerstown woman. The stolen property included the Victim’s Identity.
Vehicle Accident – On July 11, 2021 at 3:34 p.m., this two-vehicle hit-and-run crash occurred in the Twin Maples trailer park located at 500 Houtztown Rd. in Jackson Twp. This crash occurred in the driveway of trailer 64 of the aforementioned location. This crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2013 Ford Focus, driven by Operator 2, a 50 year old Myerstown man, was legally parked in the driveway of the residence when it was struck in the rear end by Unit 1, a Toyota Yaris, driven by Operator 1, that subsequently fled from the scene. Charges of Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic for Operator 1 are pending investigation.
Jonestown Borough
Theft – On July 10, 2021 sometime between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to West Chestnut St. for a report of a theft. An unemployment claim was opened utilizing the Victim’s personal information. The Victim completed the appropriate Department of Labor and Industry fraudulent forms. The U.S. Department of Labor was notified of the incident. The Victim did not sustain any financial loss as a result of this incident. The Victim was a 72 year old Jonestown woman. The stolen property included a Social Security Number.
Myerstown Borough
Identity Theft – On July 12, 2021 sometime between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to South College St. for a report of a theft. An unemployment claim was opened utilizing the Victim’s personal information. The Victim completed the appropriate Department of Labor and Industry fraudulent forms. The U.S. Department of Labor was notified of the incident. The Victim did not sustain any financial loss as a result of this incident. The Victim was a 62 year old Myerstown woman. The stolen property included a Social Security Number.
South Londonderry Township
Theft – Police are investigating the theft of an iPhone from the women’s restroom at Mt. Gretna Lake, located at 130 Lakeview Dr. in Mt. Gretna, on July 10, 2021. It is an iPhone 11, green in color with a clear case. If anyone has any information about the stolen phone, please call police at 717-838-1376.
Vehicle Accident – On July 6, 2021 at 4:31 p.m., a Jeep Liberty driven by an 85 year old Annville man slid off of the road and struck a fence in the 1,900 block of South Forge Rd. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
Union Township
Vehicle Accident – On July 8, 2021 at 6:42 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2008 Honda CRV, driven by Operator 1, a 53 year old Chatham, NJ man, was traveling west on Lickdale Rd. in Union Twp., approaching the intersection with SR 72. Unit 2, a 1995 General Motors Corp Silverado, driven by Operator 2, a 16 year old Jonestown male, was traveling south on SR 72 approaching the same intersection. Operator 1 failed to stop for a steady red signal. Unit 1 traveled into the intersection and struck Unit 2. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not report injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Traffic-Control Signals.

Through further investigation, troopers learned that an unidentified person opened an unemployment account in the Victim’s name. No monetary value was reported lost/stolen from the Victim. The U.S. Office of Inspector General Department of Labor was notified of this particular incident. The stolen property included the Victim’s Personal Info Used For Fraudulent Unemployment Claim.
Vehicle Accident – On July 13, 2021 at 1:51 a.m., this crash occurred on SR 72 South, just north of Bohn’s Ln. in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Operator 1, a 17 year old Jonestown female, driving Unit 1, a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser, was traveling south on SR 72 South in Unit 1. Operator 1 fell asleep, subsequently losing control of Unit 1. Unit 1 traversed off of the right shoulder of SR 72 South, striking a guide rail and spinning clockwise before coming to final rest, facing east within the southbound travel lane of SR 72 South. Unit 1 was observed to have sustained heavy and disabling damage at the 12 o’clock position as a result of this crash and was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing. Operator 1 reported suspected minor injuries to her neck and chest as a result of this crash but was not transported. Operator 1 was cited with Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
West Cornwall Township
Vehicle Accident – On July 10, 2021 at 10:40 p.m., this crash occurred in the area of the 200 block of SR 117. Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Lebanon woman, was traveling eastbound on SR 117 on SR 72 when Operator 1 lost control of Unit 1 and traveled off of the roadway, striking a rock wall. Operator 1 did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene.
