The Gretna Theatre has offerings for young and old with two shows running this week.

The Hound of the Baskervilles, a comedic play adaptation of the classic Sherlock Holmes story, will run Thursday, Aug. 5, to Sunday, Aug. 8.

The play features three actors, each playing multiple characters and undergoing elaborate Victorian costume changes.

There are 2 p.m. matinees on Thursday and Sunday, plus shows at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Tickets, available online here, range from $15 to $39 depending on location.

Gretna Theatre’s 2021 Kids Series will conclude Saturday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m. with The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, a puppet show adaptation of the titular story as well as three other short stories by Eric Carle. The performance features over 75 large-scale colorful puppets.
