Bethel Township

Driving While DUI Suspended – On Sept. 4, 2021 at 5:54 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown initiated a traffic stop at Deep Run Rd. and Long Rd. It was later determined that the Operator was driving with a DUI suspended driver’s license. This was the Operator’s fourth Driving While DUI Suspended. The Arrestee was a 48 year old Lebanon man. The vehicles involved included a 1997 Honda Civic.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 25, 2021 at 12:07 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2013 Toyota RAV4, driven by Operator 1, a 64 year old Palmyra woman, was traveling northbound on Gravel Hill Rd., approaching the intersection of Colt Dr., when Unit 1 began executing a left turn onto Colt Dr. Unit 2, a 2002 Subaru Outback, driven by Operator 2, a 34 year old Palmyra woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 5 year old Palmyra male, was traveling southbound on Gravel Hill Rd., approaching the same intersection. Unit 1 turned into the path of Unit 2, subsequently striking Unit 1. Unit 2 then hit a utility pole located on the side of the roadway. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed from the scene. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Passenger 1 was using a booster seat at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and were transported via Life Lion to the Hershey Medical Center. Passenger 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Vehicle Turning Left.

Harassment – On Sept. 7, 2021 at approximately 3:50 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to a 00 block of Homestead Rd. in East Hanover Twp. for a report of a neighbor dispute. Investigation revealed that two neighbors were involved in a verbal argument, regarding property lines in which both parties threatened physical contact. Both parties were cited with Harassment within MDJ 52-3-04. The Victims/Arrestees were a 64 year old Grantville man and a 50 year old Middletown man.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 9:52 a.m., this crash occurred on I 81 North at mile marker 86.7 in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as all involved Units were traveling north on I 81 North. Unit 3, a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Operator 3, a 25 year old Sonora, KY man, observed traffic slowing ahead due to heavy rain, and pulled to the right shoulder of I 81 North. Unit 2, a 2021 Freightliner M2, driven by Operator 2, a 30 year old Richmond, VA man, was following directly behind Unit 3 and also slowed for traffic ahead when it was struck from behind by Unit 1, a 2000 Peterbilt 567, driven by Operator 1, a 32 year old Trinity, TX man. Unit 2 was subsequently pushed into the trailing portion of Unit 3, before coming to final rest beyond the right shoulder of I 81 North, facing east. After striking Unit 2, Unit 1 continued onto the right shoulder of I 81 North before coming to final rest, facing north. Unit 3 remained on the right shoulder of I 81 North, facing north. Unit 1 was observed to have sustained heavy and disabling damage to its entire front end at the 11 o’clock position and was towed from the scene by Motter’s Towing. Unit 2 sustained heavy and disabling rear-end damage at the 7 o’clock position as a result of being struck by Unit 1. Unit 2 further sustained disabling damage to its front-end at the 1 o’clock position as a result of being pushed into Unit 3. Unit 2 was also towed from the scene by Motter’s Towing. Unit 3 and its trailing portion sustained mild damage at the 9 o’clock position and was able to be driven from the scene in its normal customary manner. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Operator 3 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Operator 3 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.

North Annville Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 6, 2021 at 9:33 a.m., Unit 1, a 2012 Toyota RAV4, driven by Operator 1, a 43 year old Annville woman, was traveling south on SR 934. Unit 2, a 1979 General Motors Corp C30, driven by Operator 2, Larry Wilson, a 46 year old Lebanon man, was traveling north on SR 934. Unit 1 turned left into the path of Unit 2 and struck Unit 2 in its lane of travel. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Vehicle Turning Left.

North Londonderry Township

Careless Driving – On Sept. 3, 2021 at 11:15 a.m., a 22 year old Mount Wolf resident, was cited for Careless Driving, after he struck the rear of a vehicle operated by Kelly Lynch, a 43 year old Palmyra resident, who was stopped in a line of traffic. This crash occurred on the 1,000 block of East Main St. No injuries were sustained as a result of this crash. Erb’s truck had to be towed as a result of this crash.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 8, 2021 at 9:48 a.m., the vehicle driven by a Mount Joy woman left the right side of the roadway and struck a traffic sign. This crash occurred on the 300 block of Campbelltown Rd. No injuries were sustained as a result of this crash. The woman’s vehicle was driven from the scene. The woman was cited for Failing to Drive Within a Single Lane.

Retail Theft – On Aug. 16, 2021 through Aug. 30, 2021 at various times, these incidents occurred on the 00 block of North Londonderry Sq. in Palmyra. Upon completion of an investigation, Robert Davis, a 51 year old Harrisburg resident, and Bryan Conrad, a 47 year old Mechanicsburg resident, were both charged with Felony Retail Theft. Collectively, they stole merchandise from Lowe’s, valued at $4,025.00. Charges were filed at Judge Garver’s Office.

South Lebanon Township

Drug Possession – PSP Jonestown is investigating an incident that occurred on Aug. 25, 2021 at 2:10 p.m., on the 700 block of East Walnut St., where an inmate was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Investigation continues.

Swatara Township

Theft From Building – On Sept. 8, 2021 at approximately 8:16 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to the 2,000 block of SR 72 North in Swatara Twp. after the Victim contacted PSP Jonestown after he noticed several tools were stolen from the residence that he is remodeling. PSP Jonestown is investigation.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 8, 2021 at 5:52 p.m., this three-vehicle crash occurred on SR 72 at its intersection with New Bunkerhill Rd. in Swatara Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2005 Ford Focus, driven by Operator 1, a 78 year old Annville woman, was traveling eastbound across SR 72 from Thompson Ave. to continue onto New Bunkerhill Rd. Unit 1 failed to properly clear the roadway when Unit 2, a 2004 Dodge Stratus, driven by Operator 2, a 54 year old Lebanon woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 58 year old Jonestown man, was traveling northbound on SR 72 and struck Unit 1 as it was crossing the intersection. Operator 2 subsequently lost control of Unit 2, which subsequently struck the front end of Unit 3, a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Operator 3, a 40 year old Jonestown man, accompanied by Passenger 2, a 44 year old Jonestown woman, which was stopped at the stop sign located at the above-listed intersection. Operator 1 subsequently lost control of Unit 1, which subsequently struck the stop sign at the above-listed intersection. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing Company due to disabling front-end damage sustained in the crash. Unit 3 was driven away from the scene. Operator 1, Operator 3, and Passenger 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 2 and Passenger 1 were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Operator 2, Passenger 1, and Operator 3 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Passenger 2 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Life Lion to the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of neck pain. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs. Operator 2 was cited for Restraint Systems.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 1:12 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2019 Volvo GHD, driven by Operator 1, a 57 year old Chesapeake, VA man, was traveling south on I 81 near mile marker 92.9. Unit 2, a 2017 Volvo D13, driven by Operator 2, and Unit 3, a 2015 Kenworth T800, driven by Operator 3, were parked on the east shoulder. Unit 2 was disabled from a previous crash and was attached to Unit 3 to be towed. Unit 2 and Unit 3 were unoccupied when this crash occurred. Unit 1 was negotiating a lefthand curve in the roadway, when Unit 1’s tires lost contact with the wet road surface, causing Operator 1 to lose control of Unit 1. Unit 1 veered into the left lane before exiting the roadway from the east shoulder, where it hit the rear of Unit 2. Unit 2 then hit Unit 3. Unit 1 came to its position of final rest, where impact occurred. Unit 1 sustained damage to the front-end. Unit 2 and Unit 3 sustained rear-end damage. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. No airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Hatter’s Towing. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Trooper Leganza, Trooper Corkery, Trooper Wolfe, PennDOT, and Hatter’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

Union Township

Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – On Sept. 4, 2021 at 10:18 p.m., this incident occurred on the 00 block of Old Forge Rd. as an unknown Actor(s) smashed the Victim’s vehicle’s driver’s side window and fled the scene in a blue-colored pickup truck. The Victim’s vehicle was parked in the Love’s parking lot in Jonestown. Anyone with any information regarding this incident, please contact PSP Jonestown station at 717-865-2194. The Victim was a 54 year old Grantville woman. The vehicles involved included a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser.

DUI – On Aug. 10, 2021 at 2:34 a.m., troopers responded to a disabled motorist on the 900 block of I 81 South. The Arrestee was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Appropriate charges have been filed. The Arrestee was Brad Harman, a 73 year old Halifax man. The vehicles involved included a 2017 Ram 1500.
