Bethel Township

Theft By Deception – Sometime between May 17, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. and Sept. 9, 2021 at 12:09 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Morrissey Dr. for a report of theft. Through investigation, it was determined that the Victim was scammed into transferring $15,000.00 to an unknown Suspect(s). Investigation is ongoing. The Victim was a 39 year old Lebanon woman. The stolen property included U.S. Currency, valued at $15,000.00.

Public Drunkenness – On Sept. 9, 2021 at 1:11 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to North Pine Grove St. for a report of a suspicious person. Through investigation, it was determined that the Arrestee trespassed onto the above-listed property. The Arrestee was taken into custody, where charges were prepared. The Arrestee was then transported to Lebanon County Central Booking. The Arrestee was a 22 year old Lebanon man. The Victim was Safeguard Properties in Valley View, OH.

Death Investigation – On Sept. 10, 2021 at 2:50 p.m., on the 00 block of Ulsh Ln. in Bethel Twp., members of PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the above-listed location for a report of a male found unresponsive inside of his residence. Further investigation revealed that the male was deceased. The death is being investigated as a suspicious death pending an autopsy at the Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital. The identity of the Victim will be released pending notification to the next of kin. As of this time, there is no danger to the public. This investigation is ongoing. The Victim was a 35 year old W/N/M.

Jonestown Borough

Theft Of Vehicle Parts – Sometime between Sept. 8, 2021 at 8:15 p.m. and Sept. 9, 2021 at 11:25 a.m., PSP Jonestown responded to South Broad St. for a report of theft. An unknown Suspect(s) stole the Victim’s exhaust tip from his personal vehicle and then left by unknown means in an unknown direction of travel. Investigation is ongoing. The Victim was an 18 year old Jonestown man. The stolen property included a Rhino Exhaust Tip, valued at $50.00. The vehicles involved with the theft from motor vehicle included a 2012 Ford Focus.

Myerstown Borough

Burglary Residential No Force – On Aug. 29, 2021 at 6:54 p.m., this incident occurred on West Washington Ave. In the commission of this crime, the Suspects entered a vacant apartment and damaged the walls. The Victim was Washington Apartments in Myerstown.

Swatara Township

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 28, 2021 at 3:53 a.m., this crash occurred on I 78 at mile marker 4.1 in Bethel Twp. Unit 1, a 2012 Acura TL, driven by Operator 1, a 19 year old Reading man, accompanied by Passenger 1, an 18 year old Reading man, Passenger 2, a 20 year old Reading man, Passenger 3, a 19 year old Temple man, and Passenger 4, a 17 year old Reading male, was traveling east on I 78, when it left the roadway on the right side. Unit 1 traveled up an embankment, before rolling over. Unit 1 came to its position of final rest on the roof in the right eastbound lane of travel, facing west. Operator 1 and Passenger 4 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Passenger 1, Passenger 2, and Passenger 3 were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Passenger 1, Passenger 2, Passenger 3, and Passenger 4 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1, Passenger 1, Passenger 2, and Passenger 4 were transported via Life Lion to Reading Hospital. Passenger 3 were transported via First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon to Reading Hospital. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
