Bethel Township

Identity Theft – On Sept. 20, 2021 at 3:34 p.m., this incident occurred as the Victim was notified via email that an unknown Actor(s) made a fraudulent unemployment compensation claim in his name, using his personal information (name, date of birth, SSN, etc.). According to the Victim, he received no financial loss due to this incident. The Victim was advised to file an Identity Theft report through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industries as required. The Victim was further advised to obtain a copy of his credit report as well as a record of his bank accounts to determine if there were any discrepancies. On Sept. 20, 2021 at approximately 9:00 p.m., all information regarding this incident was forwarded to Agent Syreeta Scott of the U.S. Office of Inspector General – Department of Labor via email. The Victim was a 24 year old Lebanon man. The stolen property included Personal Identity Information (PII).

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 20, 2021 at 12:00 a.m., this hit-and-run crash was discovered while PSP Jonestown was on patrol on SR 1014/Greble Rd. in Bethel Twp. Initial impact occurred when Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, left the roadway, hitting a pole, causing damage. Unit 1 traveled back onto the roadway and continued traveling east, without stopping or contacting police and/or the property owner. The date of the crash, the extent of the damage to Unit 1, and whether Operator 1 sustained injuries as well as the severity of those injuries remain unknown.

City of Lebanon

Fatal Accident/Pedestrian Struck – On Sept. 23, 2021 at 7:11 a.m., police were dispatched to an accident involving a motor vehicle and pedestrian on the 100 block of East Cumberland St. The pedestrian, a 59 year old Lebanon man, was briskly walking north, mid-block, across East Cumberland St., when he was struck by the vehicle traveling west on East Cumberland St. The man was transported to a local medical facility, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver, a 78 year old Lebanon man, stopped immediately at the scene and participated in the investigation. Speeding does not appear to be a factor in this accident. Police are continuing to investigate the accident with the assistance of the Lebanon County Serious Accident Reconstruction Team. Police are not releasing the name of the victim or driver at this time.

Cornwall Borough

Deer Struck – A 45 year old Lebanon resident struck a deer on Sept. 22, 2021 at 6:09 p.m. on SR 322 at Boyd St. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. The vehicle sustained front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 17, 2021 at 5:31 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2019 Volvo GLT tractor-trailer, driven by Operator 1, a 26 year old Perth-Andover, NB man, was traveling north on I 81 at mile marker 83 in East Hanover Twp. As Unit 1 was traveling north in the righthand lane of travel, directly behind Unit 2, a 2017 Kia Forte, driven by Operator 2, a 37 year old Port Clinton man, Unit 2 utilized its brakes to slow down. Unit 1’s frontal portion subsequently hit Unit 2’s rear portion. Unit 1 sustained impact damage as a result of this crash. This damage included a damaged front bumper, which was bent. Unit 2 also sustained impact damage as a result of this crash. Unit 2’s rear portion was completely smashed in. Unit 2 was towed by Porrini’s Towing. Operator 2 and its passengers were transported via Life Lion EMS and First Aid Safety and Patrol EMS to the Hershey Medical Center. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Fort Indiantown Gap Fire Department, Northern Lebanon Fire Department, Life Lion EMS, and First Aid Safety and Patrol EMS. The right lane of travel was closed, and it was reopened at approximately 6:38 p.m. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.

DUI – On Aug. 30, 2021 at 5:46 a.m., this incident occurred on Jonestown Rd. and North SR 934. In the commission of this crime, the Arrestee operated a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. The Arrestee was a 33 year old Grantville man. The vehicles involved included a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Identity Theft – On Sept. 19, 2021 at 10:08 a.m., troopers spoke to the Victim at PSP Jonestown who related that a fraudulent unemployment compensation claim had been opened in her name. The claim, which was opened by an unknown Actor(s) from an unknown location, used all of her information, including her SSN. The Victim suffered no monetary/financial loss and was advised to complete the Identity Theft/Unemployment Fraud Form with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. All information was forwarded to Assistant Special Agent in Charge Syreeta Scott of the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Inspector General for further investigation. Anyone with information or who is a potential victim of a similar incident is encouraged to call the Pennsylvania State Police or their local police department. The Victim was a 36 year old Grantville woman. The stolen property included an Unemployment Claim.

Fatal Accident – On Sept. 21, 2021 at 5:26 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2003 Toyota Echo, driven by Operator 1, a 64 year old Jonestown woman, was traveling northbound on Ono Rd. at its intersection with Jonestown Rd. Unit 1 failed to stop at the posted stop sign at this intersection and proceeded across the lanes of Jonestown Rd. Unit 1 struck a large rock, struck a tree, and then overturned. No evidence was observed on the use or non-use of a safety belt. Operator 1 sustained fatal injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage as a result of this crash and was towed from the scene. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Northern Lebanon Fire Services, Fire Police, Life Lion EMS, and the Lebanon County Coroner’s Office.

Jackson Township

Identity Theft – On Sept. 18, 2021 at 10:38 a.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Bradford Cir. for a report of theft. A fraudulent unemployment claim was opened utilizing the Victim’s personal information. The Victim did not sustain any financial loss as a result. Department of Labor and Industry was notified. The Victim was a 46 year old Myerstown man. The stolen property included the Victim’s Social Security Number.

DUI – On Sept. 19, 2021 at 4:28 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to the 900 block of South College St. to assist EMS. It was determined that the Suspect was driving while under the influence. The Suspect was placed into custody and transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital in the City of Lebanon for a legal blood draw. Charges are pending. The vehicles involved included a 2012 Toyota Tacoma.

Myerstown Borough

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 17, 2021 at 10:58 a.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on North Locust St. at its intersection with West Washington Ave. in Myerstown Boro. This crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2001 Ford Taurus (X), driven by Operator 2, an 18 year old Myerstown woman, was traveling south on North Locust St., north of its intersection with West Washington Ave. Unit 1, a 2012 Ford Focus, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Myerstown woman, was stopped at the stop sign, facing east on West Washington Ave. Unit 1 proceeded eastbound through the intersection without clearance and was struck by Unit 2. Operator 1 was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 2 was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Theft Items From Motor Vehicle – On Sept. 10, 2021 at 7:43 a.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to West Main Ave. for thefts from motor vehicles. It was discovered that the residents of West Main Ave. had three of their unlocked vehicles rummaged through on the night of Sept. 9, 2021. Three pairs of Goodr sunglasses, a pair of Jaybird earbuds, and an unknown brand of wireless earbuds were stolen from the vehicles. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Jonestown. The Victims were a 64 year old Myerstown woman and a 29 year old Myerstown man. The stolen property included Goodr Grape Ape Mistake Sunglasses, valued at $25.00, Jaybird Wireless Earbuds, valued at $150.00, Wireless Headphones, valued at $60.00, and Goodr Sunglasses, valued at $25.00. The vehicles involved included a 2008 Nissan Altima, a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, and a 2007 Nissan Frontier.

North Lebanon Township

Firearm Not To Possess – On Sept. 10, 2021 at 10:07 a.m., PSP Jonestown conducted a traffic stop on an Acura TL on SR 72 North and Mountville Dr. for a violation of the PA Vehicle Code (Title 75). Numerous criminal indicators were observed during the stop and the vehicle was seized. A search warrant was applied for and obtained. A search was completed of the vehicle, where drugs, drug paraphernalia, bulk U.S. currency, and a firearm were discovered and seized. PSP is investigating.

North Londonderry Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 18, 2021 at 6:30 a.m., Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, a 23 year old Elizabethtown resident, failed to make a lefthand turn at the East Main St. and Plaza Dr. intersection. Unit 1 drove up and over an embankment and slid the length of the Northwest Bank parking lot, until coming to final rest at the west end of the parking lot. Unit 1 sustained damage to all four tires and was towed from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic and Careless Driving. No injuries were sustained as a result of this crash.

Driving Under Suspension – On Sept. 15, 2021 at 6:23 a.m., this incident occurred on the 1,100 block of West Main Street. A 42 year old Annville resident was charged with a misdemeanor offense for Driving Under Suspension – DUI Related After a Third or Subsequent Offense. He was also cited for several other traffic offenses, including an Expired Inspection and Emissions as well as Expired Registration.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 23, 2021 at 8:59 p.m., this incident occurred on Campbelltown Rd. and Cottonwood Ct. North Londonderry Twp. police cited Operator 1, a 21 year old Palmyra resident, with Driving Vehicle at Safe Speeds, after she struck the rear of Unit 2, a pickup truck, driven by Operator 2, a 43 year old Palmyra resident, who was slowing down on Campbelltown Rd. to turn left into the Palmyra High School. There were no injuries reported on scene. Unit 1 sustained damage that required a tow.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 24, 2021 at 7:43 a.m., Unit 2, driven by Operator 2, a 33 year old Lebanon resident, was parked along Ladderback Ln. Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, a 40 year old Palmyra resident, was backing out of a driveway onto Ladderback Ln. and struck the driver’s side of Unit 2.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 22, 2021 at 11:41 a.m., Operator 1, a 29 year old Robesonia resident, was cited for Following Too Closely in connection with a crash that occurred on the above-listed date. Unit 1 and Unit 2, driven by Operator 2, a 63 year old Annville resident, were traveling east on Main St. at Apple Blossom Ln. Unit 1 struck the rear end of Unit 2.

Swatara Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 20, 2021 at 11:40 a.m., this reportable crash occurred on Grace Ave., just south of Eve Ave. in Swatara Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2003 Saturn L200, driven by Operator 1, a 40 year old Myerstown man, was traveling south on Grace Ave. and approached stopped vehicles in the roadway. Unit 1 attempted to stop but was unable to stop in time and rear-ended Unit 2, a 1999 Chevrolet Venture, driven by Operator 2, a 72 year old Lebanon man, Initial impact occurred as Unit 1’s front bumper made contact with Unit 2’s rear bumper. Unit 1 sustained damage. Operator 1 was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 2 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Penn Twp. VFC QRS. Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 17, 2021 at 8:49 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2019 Subaru Forester, driven by Operator 1, a 32 year old Suffern, NY woman, was traveling west on I 78. Unit 1 was traveling directly behind Unit 2, a 2021 Ford Transit, driven by Operator 2, a 45 year old Hagerstown, MD man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 21 year old Little Orleans, MD woman. Unit 2 utilized its brakes to slow down. Unit 1 was following too closely, and its frontal portion subsequently hit Unit 2’s rear portion. Unit 1 sustained impact damage as a result of the crash. This damage included a damaged frontal portion, which was smashed. Unit 1’s front and curtain side airbags were deployed. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Blatt and Tillet Towing. Unit 2 also sustained impact damage as a result of the crash. This damage included a damaged rear bumper, which was partially torn. The right westbound lane remained closed, and it was reopened at approximately 9:45 p.m. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 1 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Life Lion EMS to the Hershey Medical Center. Operator 2 and its Passengers did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Northern Lebanon Fire Department, Ono Fire Department, and Life Lion EMS. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.

Theft – On Sept. 7, 2021 sometime between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., members of PSP Jonestown responded to Old Forge Rd. to investigate a reported stolen wallet. The Victim was a 22 year old Annville woman. The stolen property included a Coach Red And Brown Coach Zipper Purse, valued at $150.00.

Theft – On Aug. 17, 2021 at 4:04 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the 00 block of MSC Dr. to investigate a theft. It was reported that 56 Samsung TVs were stolen by unknown means from an inbound tractor-trailer before it arrived at the Samsung Distribution Center. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is requested to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194. The Victim was Samsung in Jonestown. The stolen property included a 60 Inch Samsung TV, valued at $515.64, and a 90 Inch Samsung TV, valued at $1,405.29.

Theft – On Sept. 9, 2021 at 8:01 a.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the 500 block of Old Forge Rd. for a theft. It was reported that a temporary employee/Actor had stolen $895.00 worth of merchandise. The Actor was observed posting the items on his Facebook for sale, by other employees. The Actor was charged with Receiving Stolen Property and has an active arrest warrant for these charges. The Actor/Arrestee was a 24 year old Myerstown man. The Victim was VF Outdoor Company in Jonestown. The stolen property included a Vans Orange Milfred Beanie, valued at $20.00, a Vans Black/White Slipped Wallet, valued at $15.00, a Vans Pouch Wallet, valued at $20.00, Vans Yellow/Black/White Crew Socks, valued at $10.00, a Vans Yellow Traveler Fanny Pack, valued at $25.00, a Vans Deppster Web Belt, valued at $15.00, The North Face Black/Red Venture, valued at $99.00, The North Face Black Venture 2 J, valued at $99.00, and The North Face Black And Purple, valued at 35.00.

Harassment – On Sept. 20, 2021 at 2:41 p.m., this incident occurred on Everest Ln. as the Arrestee entered the Holiday Inn to confront workers, regarding one of them informing her son to no longer ride his bike on their property. According to the Victim, the Arrestee entered the hotel in a belligerent manner and began screaming at workers of the hotel. According to the Victim and multiple witnesses, the Arrestee threatened physical contact with the Victim. The Arrestee was issued a Non-Traffic Citation (NTC) for Harassment within MDJ 52-3-04. The Arrestee was a 28 year old Lebanon woman. The Victim was a 34 year old Jonestown woman.

Identity Theft – On Sept. 17, 2021 at 9:09 a.m., this incident occurred as the Victim was notified via the USPS mail that an unknown Actor(s) made a fraudulent Virginia unemployment compensation claim in his name, using his personal information (name, date of birth, SSN, etc.). According to the Victim, he received no financial loss due to this incident. The Victim was advised to contact the Virginia Unemployment Department of Labor and Industries. The Victim was further advised to obtain a copy of his credit report as well as a record of his bank accounts to determine if there were any discrepancies. On Sept. 20, 2021 at approximately 9 p.m., all information regarding this incident was forwarded to Agent Syreeta Scott of the U.S. Office of Inspector General – Department of Labor via email. The Victim was a 58 year old Jonestown man. The stolen property included Personal Identity Information (PII).
