Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 28, 2021 at 12:54 p.m., this crash occurred in the parking lot of the property located on the 400 block of Beach Run in Bethel Twp. Unit 1, a 2007 Buick Lucerne, driven by Operator 1, a 41 year old Lebanon woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 24 year old Lebanon man, proceeded to strike a utility pole. Unit 1 sustained heavy damage to its front-end and was towed from the scene by a private tow. Operator 1 and Passenger 1 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Neither Operator 1 nor Passenger 1 sustained any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Drivers Required to be Licensed.

PFA Violation – On Sept. 29, 2021 at 11:46 a.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown responded to SR 22 for a report of a PFA violation. Upon arrival on scene, it was determined that the Arrestee traveled to the Victim’s place of employment and began to wave and honk the vehicle’s horn at the Victim. Appropriate charges were filed. The Arrestee was a 37 year old Jonestown man. The Victim was a 36 year old Lebanon woman. The vehicles involved included a 2014 Jeep Chrysler.

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 1, 2021 at 4:35 p.m., this crash occurred on South Pine Grove St., just north of SR 22 in Bethel Twp. This crash involved Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, Kamrin Kohr, an 18 year old Fredericksburg man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 20 year old Fredericksburg woman, and Unit 2, driven by Operator 2, a 48 year old Fredericksburg man, and accompanied by Passenger 2, a 24 year old Fredericksburg woman. Operator 1, Passenger 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Passenger 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 and Passenger 2 did sustain possible injuries as a result of this crash.

Unauthorized Use Of Motor Vehicle – Sometime between Sept. 3, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. and Sept. 8, 2021 at 8:00 p.m., PSP Jonestown was dispatched to North Pine Grove St. for a report of trespassing. Upon arrival on scene, troopers discovered an abandoned vehicle located on the property. This investigation is ongoing. PSP is investigating. The Victim was a 20 year old Lebanon woman. The vehicles involved included a 2011 Nissan Versa.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 2, 2021 at 3:46 a.m., this non-reportable crash occurred on Allentown Blvd. (SR 72) in East Hanover Twp. Unit 1, a 1997 Harley-Davidson FLHTCI Electra Glide, driven by Operator 1, was traveling south and a deer was in the roadway. Operator 1 attempted to slow Unit 1 but was unable to slow in time, striking the deer. Unit 1 had initial contact with the deer to the front of the unit. Operator 1 laid the bike on the left side and slid off of the roadway, coming to final rest on the shoulder. There was evidence to support Unit 1 versus deer as there was a dead deer on the shoulder of the road. There was also hair from the deer on Unit 1. Operator 1 reported no injuries as a result of this crash.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 8, 2021 at 7:54 a.m., this reportable crash occurred as Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, was traveling east on Coon Creek Rd., just west of its intersection with Sherks Church Rd. in East Hanover Twp. Unit 1 was towing a mini excavator with an attached trailer. The boom of the mini excavator struck the overhanging wires, subsequently pulling the wires down onto the roadway. Unit 1 then fled the scene of the crash. It is unknown whether Operator 1 was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether and to what extent Operator 1 sustained injuries as a result of this crash.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 3, 2021 at 7:24 p.m., this crash occurred on I 81 North in the area of mile marker 84.8. This crash involved Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, a 32 year old Jacksonville, NB man, and Unit 2, driven by Operator 2, a 60 year old Lebanon woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 60 year old Lebanon woman, and Passenger 2, a 21 year old Lebanon man. Operator 1, Operator 2, Passenger 1, and Passenger 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2, Passenger 1, and Passenger 2 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 30, 2021 at 4:03 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on Albright Rd., just south of its intersection with SR 419 in Heidelberg Twp. Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, was following behind Unit 2, a 2010 Honda Accord, driven by Operator 2, a 63 year old Lititz woman, when Unit 1 attempted to pass Unit 2 by crossing over the double yellow line, subsequently striking Unit 2’s driver’s side of the vehicle. Initial impact occurred as the front right bumper of Unit 1 struck the driver’s side quarter panel of Unit 2. It is unknown whether Operator 1 was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 2 was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether and to what extent Operator 1 was injured as a result of this crash. Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 8, 2021 at 10:12 a.m., this crash occurred on SR 501 North at its intersection with East Reistville Rd. in Heidelberg Twp. This crash involved Unit 1, a 2017 Dodge Journey, driven by Operator 1, an 85 year old Myerstown man, accompanied by Passenger 1, an 84 year old Myerstown woman, and Unit 2, a 2008 General Motors Corp Yukon, driven by Operator 2, Pasquale Grasso, a 61 year old Denver man. Operator 1, Passenger 1, and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 sustained suspected serious injuries as a result of this crash and were transported via First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon to the Hershey Medical Center. Passenger 1 also sustained suspected serious injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Myerstown First Aid Unit to the Hershey Medical Center. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 5, 2021 at 10:40 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2000 Subaru Impreza, driven by Operator 1, a 41 year old Manheim man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 35 year old Wrightsville man, was negotiating a left curve turn while traveling southbound on SR 419. While negotiating the left curve, Unit 1 traveled into the northbound lane, left the roadway, and subsequently struck an embankment. Unit 1 then drove up the embankment and rolled over onto its roof, where it came to its position of final rest in the northbound lane. Operator 1 fled the scene from the crash as Unit 1 remained disabled in the northbound lane of travel. Operator 1 was cited for Immediate Notice of Accident to Police Department. Operator 1 and Passenger 1 were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether or to what extent Operator 1 sustained injuries as a result of this crash. Passenger 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash.

Jackson Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 22, 2021 at 6:03 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 1, a 36 year old Richland woman, was traveling south on Millardsville Rd., Unit 2, a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Operator 2, an 18 year old Richland man, was traveling north on Millardsville Rd., turning left onto Tulpehocken Rd., and Unit 3, a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Operator 3, a 22 year old Richland woman, was traveling east on Tulpehocken Rd. Unit 1 failed to maintain proper speed for weather while traveling through Tulpehocken Rd. Unit 1’s 12 o’clock position consequently struck Unit 2’s 5 o’clock position. This would be Unit 1’s and Unit 2’s points of initial impact. Unit 2’s 7 o’clock position was then forced into Unit 3’s 12 o’clock position. This would be both Unit 2’s and Unit 3’s points of initial impact. Unit 1, Unit 2, and Unit 3 then veered to the shoulders of the roadway. This would be Unit 1’s, Unit 2’s, and Unit 3’s points of final rest. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Operator 3 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Operator 3 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. No medical attention was required. Unit 2 required towing. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 2, 2021 at 5:31 a.m., this reportable crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Operator 1, a 21 year old Mohnton man, was traveling north on South College St. (SR 501) in Jackson Twp. Operator 1 was traveling northbound and became distracted. Unit 1 traveled across the fog line and into the grass shoulder, before striking a utility pole. Initial impact occurred as the front right side of Unit 1 struck the utility pole. Unit 1 came to final rest in a parking lot, just north of the crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by a family member. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Verizon was notified of the utility pole damage. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Suicide Attempt – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 6:22 p.m., troopers responded to Houtztown Rd. for a report of an attempted suicide. Troopers are investigating.

Myerstown Borough

Criminal/Simple Trespass – On Sept. 28, 2021 at 5:02 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown responded to West Main Ave. for a report of a trespass. Upon arrival on scene, it was determined that the Arrestee was attempting to gain entry to a property that he was recently evicted from. Appropriate charges have been filed. The Arrestee was a 43 year old Myerstown man. The Victim was a 42 year old Myerstown man.

Theft – On Oct. 1, 2021 at 10:50 a.m., this incident occurred on Oak Ct. In the commission of this crime, an unknown Actor cashed a check that the Victim had mailed to Discover Credit Card. The unknown Actor came to possess the check by unknown means. The check was endorsed by the initials K.S. The Victim was a 51 year old Myerstown woman. The stolen property included a Personal Check For $227.59, valued at $227.59.

North Lebanon Township

Retail Theft – Paula Hellinger, a 42 year old Newmanstown resident, was charged with Retail Theft at the Lebanon Wal-Mart as a result of an incident that occurred on Sept. 19, 2021, after failing to pay for $433.00 worth of merchandise.

DUI – Johanna Bomzer, a 46 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Driving Under the Influence, after striking a utility pole in the 1,600 block of a street in North Lebanon Twp. in December 2020.

Theft – Margie Matarzaai, a 65 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Theft after an incident that occurred at the Lebanon Wal-Mart from July to Sept. 2021, after failing to pay for items valued at $156.00.

Retail Theft – Shaina Bering, a 28 year old Myerstown resident, was charged with Retail Theft at the Lebanon Wal-Mart after an incident that occurred on Sept. 18, 2021, after she failed to pay for $140.00 worth of merchandise.

Retail Theft – Jason Miller, a 46 year old Womelsdorf resident, was charged with two counts of Retail Theft after incidents that occurred in September 2021, after failing to pay for $771.00 worth of merchandise at the Lebanon Wal-Mart.

Resisting Arrest, Defiant Trespass – Zechariah McLaughlin, a 22 year old with no permanent address, was charged with Resisting Arrest and Defiant Trespass as a result of an incident that occurred on Oct. 1, 2021 in the 600 block of Elizabeth St.

Retail Theft – Kelly Sechrist, a 40 year old Robesonia resident, was charged with Retail Theft after an incident that occurred at the Lebanon Wal-Mart on Oct. 1, 2021, after failing to pay for $147.00 worth of merchandise.

North Londonderry Township

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 4, 2021 at 5:52 a.m., the North Londonderry Twp. Police Department investigated a vehicle accident in which Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, a 21 year old Hummelstown resident, failed to stop for a stop sign, struck a utility pole guide wire, and ended up in the yard of the residence located on the 700 block of North Forge Rd. Operator 1 was not injured as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for several traffic violations, including Stop Signs and Yield Signs, Expired Registration, and Change of Address.

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 4, 2021 at 8:00 a.m., a hit-and-run crash occurred on the 1400 block of Old Forge Rd. after Operator 1, described as a heavyset female, of a northbound Unit 1, green-colored, possibly a Subaru, lost control of the vehicle on the wet roadway and struck a fence. Operator 1 exited her car, looked at the damaged fence, and then left the scene, heading north.

Richland Borough

Theft Items From Motor Vehicle – On Aug. 30, 2021 at 8:06 a.m., troopers responded to Georgie Ln. for a report of thefts from motor vehicles. Troopers are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Jonestown. The Victims were a 64 year old Richland man, a 65 year old Richland woman, a 78 year old Richland man, and a 19 year old Richland woman. The stolen property included a Bell And Howell Security Light, valued at $20.00, a Galls Baseball Hat, valued at $20.00, 5.00 Loose Change, valued at $5.00, and 1 $50 Bill And Loose Change Taken From Purse Totaling $10.00, valued at $60.00.

Swatara Township

Theft Items From Motor Vehicle – On Oct. 4, 2021 at approximately 9:41 a.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to investigate a theft from a motor vehicle. Through further investigation, troopers learned that a catalytic converter was cut and removed from the Victim’s vehicle that was parked at the Swatara State Park (Waterville Trailhead) near Old State Rd. and Iron Bridge Rd. This crime occurred between Sept. 24, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. and Oct. 2, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. A Suspect has not been identified. PSP Jonestown is investigating. If anyone has any information pertaining to this investigation, please contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194 and reference incident number PA2021-1341907. The Victim was a 52 year old Middletown, NJ woman. The stolen property included a JPME Catalytic Converter, valued at $200.00. The vehicles involved included a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee ‘Laredo’.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 16, 2021 at 5:09 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2009 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Operator 1, a 32 year old Harrisburg man, was traveling westbound on Old Jonestown Rd. in Swatara Twp. Unit 1 failed to properly negotiate a left curve. Unit 1 struck the guide rail on the right side of the roadway and then went down an embankment, rolling onto its roof in a creek. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage which required a tow. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 2, 2021 at 10:48 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, was traveling westbound on Stoner Rd., approaching the intersection of North Lancaster St. While traveling westbound on Stoner Rd., Unit 1 struck a low hanging power line, which subsequently pulled down a utility pole, which blocked the roadway in both the north and south lanes of travel. Unit 1 failed to stop at the scene of the crash and continued to travel westbound on Stoner Rd.

Union Township

Theft Of Lost/Mislaid Property – On Sept. 29, 2021, troopers of PSP Jonestown received a report of theft that occurred on Sept. 22, 2021 at 6:57 a.m. at TE Connectivity in Union Twp. The Victim was an employee of TE Connectivity who reported that someone stole her cell phone. The Victim left behind the cell phone in the bathroom of TE Connectivity. When the Victim returned to get the cell phone, it was gone. The investigation is ongoing. The Victim was a 22 year old Williamstown woman. The stolen property included an Apple 12 Max iPhone 12 Max With Black Otterbox, valued at $1,200.00.

Overdose – On Oct. 6, 2021 at approximately 2:54 a.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown responded to Love’s Truck Stop, located at 22 Old Forge Rd. in Union Twp., for an overdose. Life Lion Ambulance transported the Victim to a nearby hospital. The Victim was a 31 year old Lykins woman.

DUI Crash – On Aug. 18, 2021 at 8:54 p.m., troopers responded to Jonestown Rd. Troopers found the Arrestee to be under the influence of alcohol. Appropriate charges are to be filed. The Arrestee was a 47 year old Jonestown man. The Victim was a 41 year old Pine Grove man. The vehicles involved included a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ‘Laredo’ and a 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 30, 2021 at 8:07 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2020 Kenworth Northwest Truck Tracker, driven by Operator 2, a 64 year old Birdsboro man, was occupied and stopped in the traffic way located on the property of Love’s Travel Stop. Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, was attempting to make a righthand turn in the traffic way. Unit 1 then stopped and proceeded to reverse, when it hit Unit 2’s trailing unit, causing damage. After impact, Unit 1 exited the traffic way and fled the scene without stopping to provide information. No witnesses were identified on scene. An area canvass was conducted to locate Unit 1, which yielded negative results. It is unknown whether Operator 1 was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether and to what extent Operator 1 sustained any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash.
