Bethel Township

Sex Abuse Child Photo/Video – On Nov. 6, 2021 at 2:16 p.m., PSP Jonestown received a Childline report of suspected abuse and neglect in reference to a 13 year old juvenile female receiving unsolicited photos of male genitalia from a male student’s email account. Through investigation, it was found that a 14 year old juvenile male was sending photos of his genitalia to two 13 year old juvenile females through school email. The male had also requested another student to take pictures in her underwear and send them to him. The male was interviewed and admitted to being the person in the photos. Charges are pending district attorney’s review. The Victims were two 13 year old Fredericksburg juvenile females. This incident occurred at School Dr. and Airport Rd.

Theft From Building – On Nov. 15, 2021 at 3:46 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Mountain Dr. for a report of two wedding bands and one engagement ring missing from the inside of the residence. The Victims were a 31 year old Fredericksburg woman and a 31 year old Fredericksburg man. PSP Jonestown is investigating.

Death Suicide – Sometime between Nov. 19, 2021 at 9:38 p.m. and Nov. 20, 2021 at 2:54 a.m., members from PSP Jonestown responded to Snow Dr. for a report of a deceased 48 year old male. Upon processing the scene and conducting interviews, no evidence of foul play was observed. The investigation is ongoing. The Victim was a 48 year old Fredericksburg man.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 18, 2021 at 5:24 p.m., this crash occurred on I 81 South at mile marker 84.7 in East Hanover Twp. Unit 1, a 2012 Ford F150XLT, driven by Operator 1, was traveling in the right lane and left the roadway, striking the guide wire on the left side of the roadway. This was Unit 1’s point of initial impact. Unit 1 suffered minor damage in the 11 o’clock and 8 o’clock positions. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. No tow was necessary. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic and VC4525.

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 18, 2021 at 5:24 p.m., this crash occurred on I 81 South at mile marker 84.7 in East Hanover Twp. Unit 1, a 2012 Ford F150XLT, driven by Operator 1, was traveling south in the right lane of travel. Unit 2, a 2002 International INDS unknown model, driven by Operator 2, was traveling south in the right lane of travel behind Unit 1. Unit 1 began swerving in the roadway, causing Unit 2 to leave the roadway to avoid striking Unit 1. Upon leaving the roadway to the left side of the road, Unit 2 struck the guide wire. This was Unit 2’s point of initial impact. Unit 2 was able to leave the scene under its own power after being removed from the median of the roadway by Bethel Truck Service. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic. Operator 2 was cited for Following Too Closely.

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 20, 2021 at 4:40 a.m., this single-vehicle crash occurred on I 81 Southbound in the area of mile marker 84.5 in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2020 Toyota Corolla, driven by Operator 1, a 48 year old Hoquiam, WA man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 45 year old League City, TX woman, and Passenger 2, a 23 year old Friendswood, TX man, was traveling in the right lane of I 81 Southbound, when it struck a deer in its lane of travel. Unit 1 sustained disabling front-end damage. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by H&S Towing Company. Operator 1, Passenger 1, and Passenger 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Passenger 1, and Passenger 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. A charge for Required Financial Responsibility for Operator 1 is pending.

Heidelberg Township

Arson – PSP are investigating a fire that occurred at Creative Crafts Novelty Store, located at 125 Reistville Rd. in Heidelberg Twp., on Nov. 16, 2021 at 7:12 p.m. Fire crews and police responded to the above-listed location for a fire. It was discovered that a novelty statue depicting a farmer and a female caught fire. The statue had originally been placed at the Roadside America attraction in Berks County and was purchased by the Victim after the attraction ceased operating. The overall statue measured approximately 10 feet wide and 10 feet in height. The damage is estimated at approximately $5,000. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. The investigation showed that portions of the statue were intentionally ignited on fire, damaging a significant portion of the male statue. The investigation is ongoing. The Victim was Andrew King, a W/N/M Myerstown resident.

Death Natural – On Nov. 17, 2021 at 11:20 a.m., State Police responded to Schaeffer Rd. for a report of a deceased female. The Victim was found deceased by her landlord in a second floor bedroom of the residence. Nothing was discovered throughout the course of this investigation to suggest any criminal activity had taken place. The Victim appeared to have died of natural causes. The Victim was a 49 year old Lebanon woman.

Myerstown Borough

Firearm All Other Offenses – On Sept. 15, 2020 at 2:05 p.m., members from PSP Jonestown were advised of a Pennsylvania Instant Check System (PICS) denial, in which a person not to possess a firearms attempted to purchase two pistols. This incident occurred on the 00 block of East Main Ave. The investigation is ongoing.

North Lebanon Township

DUI – On Nov. 20, 2021 at 12:47 a.m., PSP Jonestown troopers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on SR 72 near West Maple St. and North 22nd St. for a vehicle code violation. The Operator was observed to be under the influence and subsequently was taken into custody. The Arrestee was a 21 year old Mohnton woman.

Richland Borough

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 1, 2021 at 4:33 p.m., this reportable crash occurred on East Linden St., just west of its intersection with Poplar St. in Richland Boro. Unit 1, a 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Operator 1, a 36 year old Richland man, was traveling east on East Linden St. and failed to stay within its lane of travel, crossing over the double yellow lines into the westbound lane, subsequently striking the Unit 2’s trailing unit, which was traveling west. Unit 2, a John Deere 6430, driven by Operator 2, a 56 year old Myerstown man, is an implement of husbandry farm equipment and was towing farm equipment. Initial impact occurred as the driver’s side fender of Unit 1 struck the front left trailing unit of Unit 2. Unit 1 came to final rest, facing north in the westbound lane. Unit 2 came to a controlled final rest on the shoulder of the westbound lane. Operator 1 was wearing a shoulder belt and Operator 2 was wearing a lap belt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Harassment – On Nov. 3, 2021 at 5:41 p.m., troopers responded to South Race St. for a report of a physical assault of a child. The Victim was a 2 year old Richland Boro. juvenile female. Troopers are investigating.

South Londonderry Township

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 13, 2021 at 2:47 p.m., Unit 1, a Lexus, driven by Operator 1, a 19 year old Palmyra woman, rear-ended Unit 2, a Honda, driven by Operator 2, a 52 year old Annville woman, in the 2400 block of Horseshoe Pk. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were able to be driven from the scene.

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 13, 2021 at 7:38 p.m., Unit 1, a silver BMW, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Annville man, pulled out from the stop sign on Airport Rd. at South Forge Rd. and into the path of Unit 2, a red Ford sedan, driven by Operator 2, a 19 year old Palmyra man. Unit 2 was traveling north on Rte. 117 and had the right-of-way. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Unit 1 and Unit 2 had to be towed. Campbelltown Fire Police assisted with traffic control. Operator 1 was cited for Duties at Stop Signs.

Swatara Township

Assault Bodily Injury No Weapon – On Oct. 17, 2021 at 8:37 a.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Old Route 22 for a disturbance. Investigation revealed that a physical domestic dispute had occurred in which the Arrestee scratched the Victim, causing injury. PSP Jonestown is investigating. The Arrestee was a 25 year old West Middletown woman. The Victim was a 38 year old West Middletown man.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 3, 2021 at 3:53 p.m., this crash occurred in the parking lot on the 00 block of Old Forge Rd. in Union Twp. Unit 1, a 2022 Wabash National unknown model, driven by Operator 1, was attempting to enter a parking stall to the right of the parking aisle from the left side of the parking aisle. Unit 2, a 2018 Freightliner unknown model, driven by Operator 2, was traveling straight through the parking aisle on the right side of the parking aisle. Unit 1 began turning into the parking stall without ensuring that the turning movement could be made safely. Unit 2 stopped but was unable to avoid being struck by Unit 1. This was both Units’ point of initial impact. After impact, both Operators were able to park their Units in parking stalls to await police arrival. No tow was necessary. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Turning Movements and Required Signals.

PFA Violation – On Nov. 17, 2021 at 12:16 p.m., the Victim entered PSP Jonestown to report a PFA violation through text messages and calls from his ex-girlfriend. The Victim was a 38 year old West Middletown man. The Arrestee was a 25 year old West Middletown woman. PSP Jonestown is investigating.

PFA Violations – On Oct. 14, 2021 at 12:59 p.m., the Complainant entered PSP Jonestown to report what she believed to be a PFA violation against the subject. PSP Jonestown is investigating.
