Jackson Township

Identity Theft – On Dec. 8, 2021 at approximately 3:16 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the 00 block of Firefly Dr. in Jackson Twp. for identity theft. Through further investigation, troopers learned that an unidentified person opened an unemployment account in the Victim’s name. No monetary value was reported lost/stolen from the Victim. The U.S. Office of Inspector General Department of Labor was notified of this particular incident. If anyone has any information pertaining to this investigation, please contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194 and reference incident number PA2021-934462. The Victim was a 42 year old Myerstown woman. The stolen property included Unemployment Fraud.

Millcreek Township

Assault Bodily Injury No Weapon – This incident occurred on East Main St. sometime between Nov. 10, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. and Dec. 9, 2021 at 2:52 p.m. PSP Jonestown is currently investigating a report of suspected child abuse. This case remains open. The Victim was a 13 year old Newmanstown juvenile female.

Myerstown Borough

Identity Theft – On Dec. 10, 2021 at 3:42 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to West Main Ave. for a report of the Victim being scammed by who she thought was going to be her employer. The Victim’s new “employer” had given her an $8,800.00 check, which she cashed. The check then bounced, and her bank account was wiped clean. PSP Jonestown is investigating. The Victim was a 39 year old Myerstown woman.

Richland Borough

Megans Law Failure To Comply – This incident occurred on the 00 block of North Race St. sometime between Nov. 22, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. and Dec. 1, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. PSP Jonestown is currently investigating a possible Megan’s Law Violation. This investigation remains open.

Union Township

Theft By Deception – On Nov. 10, 2021 at 9:57 a.m., troopers responded to Ridge Rd. for a report of an unemployment fraud. Through investigation, it was determined that an unknown Actor opened a PA Unemployment Compensation Claim and a debit card in the Victim’s name from an unknown location. Troopers are further investigating. The Victim was a 59 year old Jonestown woman.

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 28, 2021 at 1:50 p.m., this reportable crash occurred on I 81 South near mile marker 86.0 in East Hanover Twp. Unit 2, a 2018 Ford F150, driven by Operator 2, a 40 year old Greensboro, VT woman, was slowing for traffic when Unit 1, a 2017 Volkwagen GTI, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Macungie man, was following too closely and subsequently struck the rear bumper of Unit 2. Initial impact occurred as the front bumper of Unit 1 hit the rear bumper of Unit 2. Unit 1 and Unit 2 came to a controlled rest on the median of I 81. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.
