Another busy Saturday for this household, but we canโ€™t skip breakfast! I had to finish making a meal for friends who recently had a baby, and later in the day we had a birthday party to attend. We wanted to make sure we had a good breakfast, so we took the suggestion of a few of you to head to The Quentin Haus Family Restaurant, at the intersection of routes 72 and 419.

We must be honest, weโ€™ve been here before and we werenโ€™t impressed. Our expectations were sort of low, since the last time we were here one critic ordered the Belgian waffle and it was just an Eggo waffle. Iโ€™m so glad we gave it another chance today, because the food was delicious and hot, and the service was friendly. Weโ€™ve got a cute little critic, so she always draws attention too.

Today we decided to try the Belgian waffle again. The last time we were here, it was a toaster waffle. Not sure why, especially since it was before the pandemic. This time, the waffle was hot and fluffy, full of fresh strawberries and lots of whipped cream. It tasted as good as it looks. This critic usually finishes the little criticโ€™s food that she doesnโ€™t eat for breakfast, because it is her favorite meal of the day. He also ordered a side of extra crispy home fries. They came out thin and crispy, perfect for how they were ordered.

I decided to stick with something simple as well, due to our previous experience. (I didnโ€™t like whatever I got the last time, but I also was pregnant so that didnโ€™t help.) I opted for a short stack of pancakes, and a side of scrapple. The pancakes were perfect, big but not huge, a perfect size. Our little critic isnโ€™t a huge fan of sweet breakfast foods, but she kept asking for more after I gave her one bite. The scrapple was perfectly cooked (I used to prefer my scrapple pan fried, but this was deep fried to perfection, so I was ok with the different cooking method). I added my signature ketchup AND syrup and enjoyed it down to the last bite.

Our little critic always loves her scrambled eggs and sausage, so thatโ€™s what we ordered for her. She loved the meal as always, and there wasnโ€™t too much left for her dad to finish off!

Our take: Quentin Haus is a family restaurant with a simple breakfast menu. They have several specials offered daily. Though we didnโ€™t think we would, we enjoyed our meals. The staff was friendly and checked on us often to make sure we enjoyed our food and experience. Thereโ€™s a lot of regulars and they were all friendly as well.

We give this place ????.
