Police have arrested a Lebanon man for the Wednesday night shooting near Lebanon Middle School that left one adult male dead.

In a press release Friday night, Feb. 25, police announced that they had arrested 18-year-old Jouse Ortiz Serrano of Lebanon and charged him with homicide.

Police said the arrest was made around 7:15 p.m. Friday night on the 100 block of South 3rd Street. Online docket files have yet to be updated to show details of the court case, but police said that Ortiz Serrano was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Carl Garver shortly afterwards and remanded to the Lebanon County Correctional Facility, where he is currently being held without bail.

Police also identified the victim of the shooting as 32-year-old Jean Alvarado Rosado of Lebanon.

Alvarado Rosado had been seen Wednesday night, Feb. 23, lying on the sidewalk of the 300 block of North 8th Street with apparent gunshot wounds, reports of which along with calls about gunshots fired in the area prompted police to be dispatched to the scene around 9:50 p.m. Alvarado Rosado was transported to a local medical facility for treatment, where he was pronounced dead.

According to city police, Alvarado Rosado had emerged as a possible suspect in a non-fatal December shooting incident on the 1000 block of Cumberland Street in which the victim was the father of Ortiz Serrano. Police said that shooting investigation remains open.
