Often times for work I find myself down in the Philly area and occasionally I find myself in the City of Brotherly Love itself. I’ve had my share of Philly steak sandwiches. For the record, Pat’s and Geno’s are overrated tourist traps. There I said it! If you want some real spots to hit up, just ask.
However, today for lunch, I was still in the Valley, but I had a taste for South Philly. Located in the village of Campbelltown along Route 322 sits Stuff’D Steaks. They also have a food truck that travels to different events.

They have a few tables inside for dining. Their menu is simple, make your own style or a couple put together sandwich options. Today I chose a ribeye ($12) “wit” whiz, grilled onions and banana peppers, and an order of fresh cut fries ($5). They charge $1 extra for credit card charges. A personal aside, I love walking into a joint and seeing sacks of potatoes by the door. You know you’re going to get good fries.
I took my lunch back to my office. Unfortunately, the whiz melted and leaked to make a bit of a mess. Oh well, adapt and overcome. The first bite brought me back. The quality of the ribeye stood out. I do wish there were more onions, but I’m weird like that. My fries did not disappoint. I do regret not getting something added to them like Old Bay seasoning or buffalo sauce.
Our take: Stuff’D offers a simple menu of make your own style sandwiches and a couple put together options. We heard they might be expanding the menu sometime soon. They use a quality ribeye for the sandwich. The fresh cut fries need doctored up. On our next order, we’re getting them with old bay. While not the best cheesesteak I’ve had, this will make you feel like you’re around 8th & Lombard.
