U-Haul is poised to expand its Lebanon operations through acquisition of a property across the street from its current location.

U-Haul operates at 1440 Cumberland St. and, as of earlier this year, owns 1435 Cumberland St. as well.

Part of the former Keystone Weaving Mills campus, the new property was purchased in February from Dwell America for $850,000 by AMERCO Real Estate Company, the real estate subsidiary of U-Haul owner AMERCO.

According to a Facebook post by Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz, U-Haul will construct a multi-floor storage facility on the site.

U-Haul declined further comment, saying that the project is still in preliminary stages.

“We’re working on getting proper approvals and won’t have much to offer until we’re through this phase,” said a spokesperson.
