Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

While out and about during a Saturday we had a chance to stop by a local church that had a flea market and food truck set-up. While we weren’t looking to stop by any food trucks, one did catch my eye. We wanted a little snack that the three of us could share.

A new truck to the local scene, established in 2021, Flavor Latino offers up several dish options including tacos, pulled pork, and the special of the day, empanadas.

With a choice of chicken & cheese or beef & cheese, you receive three empanadas for $7, including a spicy dipping sauce. Today, we got two beef and one chicken empanadas. It took about five minutes for our order to be ready.

These fried shells came with ample filling. Each bite had plenty of meat and cheese, all the way to the last bite. The meats were seasoned well within, and the amount of cheese provided a nice complement to the beef and chicken. Even though this was to be a snack for the critic crew, we were all filled after devouring our order.

Our take: A newer local truck to the scene. It seemed like a family operation, and they want to provide a quality meal for the palette. They provide a Spanish flavor with some zest and spice. We will look for them again to sample some of their other offerings.

We give this place ????.
