LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
This week, meet Ava Rae!
Diane Carroll of Annville said she added the 1-year-old pit bull to their pack last October.
“I believe in rescuing first,” Diane says. So she put out some feelers to a friend who fosters orphaned dogs, asking specifically about a young female pittie.
“I received a picture of Ava who she just got in, and we adopted her immediately,” she says. “Ava fit into my pack remarkably well!”
Ava Rae, Diane says, “is the most comical, playful, smart and energetic little girl! She’s so sassy when she talks back playfully to my pack leader, Billy!”
And that’s not all, Diane adds. “We recently had a new baby (human!) added to our family home. Ava became the most loving nanny dog, checking in on the baby from the time he came home from the hospital. Upon entering a room where the baby is, she slows down and is very careful around him.”
Diane is a strong advocate of rescuing dogs, and she says her family has “been so lucky with the pups” they have rescued. “Research the breed to make sure you have the ability to care for them and that they will fit into your pack, if you have other dogs,” she urges.
Congratulations on being chosen as this week’s Pet of the Week, Ava Rae! We’re so glad you found your pack!!
