Annville Township
DUI, Following Too Closely – At 1:53 a.m. May 1, police stopped a vehicle that was traveling east on the 700 block of East Main Street for speeding and following another vehicle too closely. Upon contact with the driver, police arrested Heather Rahn, 34, of Lebanon, for suspicion of DUI. Police cited Rahn with two counts of DUI and one count of following too closely.
DUI, Careless Driving – At 1:35 a.m. April 3, police responded to the 400 block of East Main Street for a crash involving a single car striking several parked vehicles. Police determined that Derrick Fake, 26, of Lebanon, was driving east on East Main Street when he was distracted by his cellphone. Fake’s vehicle struck an unoccupied parked car, pushing it into several other parked cars. Five cars were damaged, including Fake’s, police said; four sustained severe disabling damage and required towing. Police arrested Fake for DUI. Police subsequently filed criminal charges against Fake for two counts of DUI and one count of careless driving on April 22.
Bethel Township
Theft of Motor Vehicle – At 9:07 a.m. June 4, police responded to Union Road for a vehicle theft. Police determined that an unknown actor(s) stole a green 2016 Honda Rancher ATV from a 49-year-old Lebanon man.
Criminal Mischief under $1,000 – At approximately 8:01 p.m. June 6, police responded to the 100 block of Elm Avenue for criminal mischief. Police determined that on an unknown date and time, an unknown actor(s) arrived at the victim’s residence and threw several eggs at the front of the residence. Police observed no damage to the residence and the victim, a 47-year-old Fredericksburg man, reported no monetary loss. Police did not locate any surveillance cameras in the area. Vehicle Accident, Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed – At 7:56 p.m. June 7, a crash occurred as a 2016 Dodge Challenger driven by a 30-year-old Lebanon man, accompanied by 22-year-old Silver Spring, Maryland, man was traveling east on Airport Road. The Dodge’s tires lost contact with the wet road surface, causing the driver to lose control of the Dodge, which exited the road from the south shoulder and hit a fence and construction materials. The Dodge sustained damage to the front end and passenger’s side. No airbags were deployed. Leffler’s Towing towed the Dodge. Both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and reported no injuries. Police cited the driver for driving vehicle at safe speed.
City of Lebanon
Vehicle Accident, Following Too Closely – At 3:34 p.m. June 8, a crash occurred as a 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by a 92-year-old Myerstown woman and a 2020 Chrysler Voyager driven by a 30-year-old Grantville man were traveling west on West Cumberland Street. The Toyota was traveling directly behind the Chrysler. The Myerstown woman, for an unknown reason, did not observe the Chrysler stopped in the travel lane and rear-ended the Chrysler. The vehicles sustained no damage as a result of the crash, and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of this crash and reported no injuries. Police cited the Myerstown woman for following too closely.
Cornwall Borough
Vehicle Accidentย – At 8:51 p.m. June 4, a crash occurred on Cornwall Road, north of Culvert Street. A vehicle driven by a 44-year-old Lebanon man was traveling north on Cornwall Road when it traveled off the road and struck a tree.ย His vehicle was towed.
Trespassing – Police cited an 18-year-old Lebanon man, a 19-year-old Pine Grove man, and a 19-year-old Jonestown man for trespassing after an incident on May 27 on a property along Rexmont Road.
Trespassing – Police cited a 21-year-old Reading man, two 19-year-old Ephrata men, an 18-year-old Stevens man, and a juvenile for trespassing after an incident that occurred on May 31 on a property along Boyd Street at the open pit. All areas by the water at this location are no trespassing.
Trespassing – Police cited a 54-year-old Lebanon man, a 19-year-old Lebanon woman, a 21-year-old Lebanon man, and two 20-year-old Lebanon women for trespassing after an incident that occurred on May 29 on a property along Boyd Street at the open pit.
East Hanover Township
Theft – At 10:27 a.m. June 1, police responded to Pleasant View Road for a reported theft. Police determined that approximately 30 to 40 feet of cut copper wire, valued at $10, was stolen by an unknown actor(s). Police are investigating.
DUI Crash – At 6:30 p.m. April 23, police responded to Mountain Road and Log Cabin Drive for a reported crash. According to a witness, the vehicle had been crossing the double yellow line on numerous occasions prior to the crash. The victim was a 46-year-old Grantville man. Police are investigating.
Jackson Township
Disorderly Conduct – At 1:57 a.m. June 2, police cited a business on West Lincoln Avenue for three false alarms occurring in 12 consecutive months.
Vehicle Accident, Stop Signs and Yield Signs – At 4:57 p.m. May 28, this crash occurred on North Locust Street near its intersection with Kutztown Road. A 2016 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 28-year-old Myerstown man, accompanied by a 25-year-old Myerstown woman, was traveling south on Kutztown Road. A 2005 Pontiac Montana driven by a 46-year-old Myerstown woman, accompanied by two 11-year-old Myerstown females, was negotiating a left curve on North Locust Street, heading in a west direction. The Myerstown man failed to stop at the stop sign and the Chevrolet hit the Pontiac. The Chevrolet’s front airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Both vehicles sustained front-end damage. Minaya’s Towing Service towed the Chevrolet. RJ Sell’s Towing towed the Pontiac. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and reported no injuries. Police cited the Myerstown man with stop signs and yield signs.
Jonestown Borough
Theft of Services – Sometime between 12:01 a.m. June 2 and 3:21 p.m. June 8, police responded to a reported theft of services on South Lancaster Street. Police determined that the suspect arrived at a hair salon with her daughter, who received services. The suspect paid for the services with a check but, several days later, put a “stop payment” on the check. The victim was a 45-year-old Jonestown woman. The stolen property included $245 for hair services received. Investigation is ongoing.
Myerstown Borough
Burglary Residential No Force – Sometime between 9 a.m. April 20 and 8:45 p.m. April 22, an unknown actor(s) stole $500 from a 23-year-old Myerstown woman on East Main Avenue.
Disorderly Conduct – At 10:48 a.m. May 14, police responded to West Washington Avenue for a reported disturbance between two parties on the road. Police determined that the parties created a public inconvenience and concern for the safety of the public by engaging in a verbal argument near a public event. The victims/arrestees were a 19-year-old Myerstown man and an 18-year-old Lebanon man.
Theft – Police responded to the Myerstown Beverage parking lot at 19 W. Washington Ave. for a reported theft of a catalytic converter. Police determined that an unknown actor(s) arrived by a motor vehicle at the parking lot off Valentine Lane at approximately 3:42 a.m. June 3 and cut off the 2013 Nissan NV200’s catalytic converter. The victim was a 33-year-old Northampton man. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194.
North Cornwall Township
Vehicle Accident – At 8:28 a.m. June 10, a crash occurred as a 65-year-old Lebanon man was traveling south on Colebrook Road and veered off the road and struck a telephone pole.ย His vehicle flipped over on its side.ย Neversink Fire responded to cut off the roof to extricate the driver.ย The Lebanon man was transported by ambulance to Hershey Medical Center for unknown injuries.ย
Vehicle Accident – At 7:40 a.m. June 9, a crash occurred as a 17-year-old Lebanon female was driving east on Walnut Street when she left the lane of travel and struck a legally parked vehicle because she was scared by a spider in her car. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and required towing.ย No injuries were reported, according to police.ย
Vehicle Accident – At 5:25 p.m. June 9, a crash occurred in the Fine Wine and Good Spirits’ parking lot as a 22-year-old Lebanon man was backing out of a parking space and struck a vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Leesport woman.ย Both vehicles sustained light damage and were driven from the scene. No injuries were reported.
Harassment – At 7:48 p.m. May 30, police responded to the 700 block of Brookside Drive for a domestic disturbance. Police cited a 44-year-old Lebanon man for harassment after he pulled a female victim’s hair.
Disorderly Conduct – At 11:03 a.m. June 5, police cited a 37-year-old Myerstown woman for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance by chasing vehicles leaving the drive-thru at Wendy’s, 2420 W. Cumberland St., and running into the middle of the street.
Palmyra Borough
Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct, Public Drunkenness – At approximately 3 a.m. March 16, police responded to the Shoe Factory Apartments at 201 N. Chestnut St. for reports of a man causing a disturbance.ย Police identified the suspect as Mark Bowman, 47, and said he was visibly intoxicated and uncooperative with police. Police determined that Bowman had been wandering around the apartment building destroying various items and appliances, causing approximately $2,000 in damage. On May 31, police filed charges against Bowman for criminal mischief – damage property, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.
Arrest Warrant – At approximately 5 p.m. June 3, police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 900 block of East Main Street.ย Police identified one of the vehicle’s occupants as Pedro Rodriguez, 30, and determined Rodriguez had an arrest warrant out of Cumberland County for DUI.ย Police placed Rodriguez under arrest for the warrant and transported him to Cumberland County without incident.ย ย
Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Public Drunkenness – At approximately 7:38 p.m. May 25, police responded to Sheetz at 811 East Main St. for a report of a woman stealing items from the store, harassing customers, and appearing intoxicated.ย Police located the subjectย walking through the parking lot of the Palmyra Shopping Center at 901 E. Main St.ย The subject allegedly did not comply with commands to stop, continually yelled and swore at officers,ย and pushed an officer.ย The subject, identified as Heidi Witman, 48, was intoxicated and holding an alcoholic beverage that was stolen from Sheetz, the report said.ย Officers attempted to take Witman into custody but she resisted by kicking, pushing, and attempting to pullย away.ย After police placed Witman in handcuffs, she continued to kick officers, yell and swear.ย Police transported Witman to Lebanon County Central Booking for processing and charged Witman with two counts of aggravated assault – injury to police officer, resisting arrest, two counts of disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and retail theft.
Swatara Township
DUI – At 2:23 a.m. June 4, police arrested Kevin Caraballo, 21, of Lebanon, for driving a 2015 Toyota Camry while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance on SR 72 North and Horst Drive.
Vehicle Accident – At 2:51 p.m. May 12, a three-vehicle crash occurred on SR 72 near Old Route 22. The crash involved a 53-year-old Grantville woman and two 17-year-old Jonestown females. All parties were wearing their seatbelts. The Grantville woman sustained a suspected serious injury and was transported via LifeLion EMS to Hershey Medical Center. Both of the 17-year-olds sustained suspected minor injuries and were not transported.
