LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

This week, meet Owen!

Owen

Owen is an Alaskan malamute/husky mix owned by Cody and Brittany Byus of Myerstown.

This happy pup, who turned 2 years old on June 9, weighs in at 60 pounds, Brittany says.

“Owen has to be one of the goofiest, and sweetest dogs I have ever met,” she says. “He loves to sing the songs of his people, especially when he does not get his way! The attitude on this boy, whew!”

He has two older brothers, both felines — Chase and Leo, who are 4 years old. Although they weigh only 11 pounds each, they keep Owen in their place, chasing him around the house if he “misbehaves.”

“The thing is, Owen is afraid of him!” Brittany says. “But don’t get me wrong, Owen will annoy the cats all day long, only because he wants one of them to play with him!”

Owen has plenty of hobbies besides shenanigans with the cats, she adds.

“When Owen isn’t spending time on our screened-in back porch napping on the couch, he is either at Doggie Daycare having the time of his life playing with the other pups, or is barking at his bucket of balls, because he has to be able to see all of his balls on the floor (insert eye roll),” Brittany says. “Or he is right by your side, with his paw on your lap, hoping you’ll give him a piece of your sandwich. Honestly, it’s just a crazy show if you come into our house and watch Owen play with his toys or annoy his feline brothers!”

Congratulations, Owen, on being picked as LebTown’s Pet of the Week!
