Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area is hosting free pop-up archery events over the next few months, geared towards archers of all skill levels.
The first free pop-up event was held at Middle Creek on Feb. 11. According to Middle Creek’s newsletter, nearly 70 people of all ages attended the first event.
Additional events are scheduled for:
- Wednesday, April 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, May 13, from 1 to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 21, from 5 to 7 p.m.
No prior experience is necessary to participate in these events, and Middle Creek said that instructors from the National Archery in the Schools Program will be on hand to teach attendees how to shoot safely. Compound bows with draw weights ranging from 12 to 20 pounds will be available to borrow during these events.
The archery range was opened in March 2022.
