An annual used book sale benefitting the Annville Free Library returns April 19-22.

The Friends of the Annville Free Library’s Big Book Sale will be held in the basement of the Annville United Methodist Church. There will be a private kick off sale the evening of Wednesday, April 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. (admission price $5 per adult).

The public and free main sale will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The sale will feature more than 5,000 gently used books, sorted into categories including history, entertainment, gardening, science, biography, and travel. Some rare and collectible books, as well as jigsaw puzzles and DVDs, will also be on sale.

A separate room will be devoted to children’s books, including a collection of children’s pop-up books. Some children’s books will be available for half price.

The book sale helps the library pay for expenses including circulation, equipment, and special programs.

Hardcover books are $2 and paperbacks are $1, and on Saturday you can bring your own grocery-sized bags and fill them for only $5 each.

Annville United Methodist Church is located at 1 N. College Ave. in Annville. The handicap-accessible entrance to the sale is in the back of the church.

For more information about the sale, or to donate large quantities of books, call the library at 717-867-1802, visit the website at FriendsofAFL.com, or email friendsofAFL@gmail.com.
