The annual Plant Sale and Garden Faire returns to the Lebanon Valley Exposition Center & Fairground on Saturday, May 6.

The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon within the Brightbill Arena.

Held annually by the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Lebanon County, the plant sale features annuals, perennials, native plants, tomatoes, peppers, and herbs.

Organizers recommend you come early for the best selection. Wagons are encouraged to make it easier to transport your haul back to your vehicle.

More than 90 types of plants will be available at the sale, with 5,000 total plants on display. Master gardeners will be on standby to help you pick out your favorites and advise on keeping them healthy.

Among the selection will be 24 varieties of tomatoes, including a new one this year, the Federel, which organizers described as “a paste tomato with 7-inch long banana-shaped red fruit, that makes a thick sauce.”

Attendees can also get tips on how to prevent and mitigate the spotted lanternfly in their garden, as well as information on becoming a master gardener.

Proceeds from the sale benefit Penn State Extension Master Gardener community programs. For more information, check out the Penn State Extension website, email lebanonmg@psu.edu, or call the office at 717-270-4391.
