LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
Our Pet of the Week sometimes is a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home. Other times the weekly column will spotlight an animal that’s available for adoption through a local shelter and is seeking a forever family.
This week, meet adoptable Duke!
Duke is an Australian shepherd mix, estimated to be around 5 years old.
“He found his way to us as a stray,” says Danielle, a dog kennel technician at the Humane Society of Lebanon County. “We can’t believe this sweet guy was out on the streets alone and wandering in the city. Poor boy.”
Now, she says, Duke needs his “new beginning.”
“This sweet boy is friendly, and he enjoys receiving affection,” Danielle says. “He also walks well on a leash and enjoys a casual walk. When in the play yard, he enjoys toy time but loves to chill with his human friends. He looks forward to seeing staff and volunteers every day.
“He loves to be given snacks and is very treat motivated, too! Duke would do well with older kiddos. He’s a chill guy looking for a calm and chill life. He would thrive best as the only dog in the home.”An adoption application and more information is available online at lebanonhumane.org or by calling the Humane Society at 717-628-1369.
