Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

We just finished up our Burger Wars and had a free Saturday morning in which the little critic wasn’t at gymnastics. So that means we got a Saturday morning breakfast date out.

Several of our followers have told us that a place in Mt. Gretna is under new ownership and we should check it out. We were there over a year ago as one of our early reviews (they got 🥓🥓🥓🥓), but would it be just as good of a stop this go round?

Porch & Pantry, located just off Rt. 117, is cozy breakfast and brunch restaurant that has limited indoor seating and a few outdoor tables on the porch.

The menu has plenty of classy options as well as vegan and gluten free options. Also, each month, they have a special “Cakes for a Cause” pancake dish in which proceeds go towards local charities and organizations.

Our meals this morning were the monthly special pancake, double stack of blueberry pancake with a lemon drizzle ($12), and Biscuits & Gravy ($13.50).

The pancakes come with a plentiful array of blueberries mixed in and a generous lemon drizzle. These fluffy pancakes had a gentle crispy exterior and an even flavor throughout. A sweet bite to start your day right!

The biscuits & gravy came out with a brown base over top of buttermilk biscuits and sausage patties. This savory dish tastes like a true homemade breakfast. A plentiful portion size and flavor abounds in this sausage gravy.

Our take: This cozy food spot is nestled in the quiet community of Mt. Gretna and the food quality stands out with each bite. The menu has a few signature items, and they have a monthly pancake special for a good cause. Allow a few extra minutes for the plates to be crafted. If you’re looking to come at a popular time, consider reservations.

We give this place 🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓.
