The library encourages artists of all abilities to submit their artwork, which will be digitized and printed onto 4.25” x 4.25” matte tiles. The tiles will adorn a wall in the library’s new addition, serving as a testament to the community’s love for the institution.

“Our goal is to create a colorful wall of patron-created, nature-inspired art to complement the gorgeous palette of our new addition,” said Mary Woolson, a library volunteer and the project’s coordinator. “Each tile reflects the love our community has for the library.”

“Artists can enjoy seeing their creations during library visits for years to come.”

Artwork must be nature-themed, square-shaped, and up to 12” x 12” in size. All submissions should be on good quality paper and entirely covered in color, using mediums like paint, oil pastels, markers, or paper collages.

Artists wishing to participate can reserve a tile for $20. The deadline for submissions is Aug. 31. Detailed art-making guidelines, including how to correctly label the art, can be found on the library’s campaign website.

The tile wall project is part of the ‘Writing the Next Chapter’ capital campaign, a $4.5 million fundraising initiative for the library’s expansion. To date, 90% of the campaign’s goal has been reached, leaving $400,000 needed to complete the master plan.
