Now through July 29, the United Way of Lebanon County is collecting school supplies in its annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive.
Backpacks and school supplies can be donated a couple of different ways.
- Drop off supplies on Saturday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YMCA Train Depot, 250 N. 8th St.
- Arrange for pickup or dropoff of donated items by contacting United Way of Lebanon County at (717) 273-8144 by Wednesday, July 26.
Some ideas for school supplies that are needed: #2 pencils, pencil erasers, pencil boxes/pouches, pens, notebooks, tablets, 24-pack crayons, child scissors, glue sticks, earbuds, and backpacks.
United Way of Lebanon County is partnering with several local groups for this event, including Making a Difference of Lebanon, the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA, and various local businesses and community groups.
The goal of the supply drive is to ensure that all children in Lebanon County can have access to a backpack and basic supplies if needed. A pickup event will be held as part of the Back-to-School Festival on Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the YMCA Train Depot. No preregistration is required.
