The Third Annual James Biever Memorial 5K will be held on Saturday, August 12, on the Lebanon Valley Rails-to-Trails located at the Lebanon Area Fairgrounds, 80 Rocherty Road in Lebanon, PA.

This year’s 5K race will begin at 8:00 a.m. followed by a one-mile fun run/walk at 9:30 a.m. Participants and members of the community are invited to enjoy yard games and food throughout the event, including an acai bowl food truck. Raffle baskets will also be available and include overnight stays in Jim Thorpe, white water rafting passes, Reading Fightin Phils tickets, Hershey candy baskets, DQ cakes, gift cards to local restaurants, and many more!

The race benefits the James Biever Police-Community Alliance (JBPCA). Since its inception in 2021, the JBPCA has donated $12,450 to local police departments for ACT 120 training of new recruits and FBI-LEEDA supervisory education. Scholarships totaling $6,500 have been awarded to high school seniors pursuing a degree in a criminal justice related field.

The alliance also supplies security blankets to all patrol cars in the county for children who are victims of traumatic events, and holds an annual Cram-A-Cruiser food drive to collect nonperishable items for local food banks.
