The Lebanon County Commission for Women is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Women’s Hall of Fame. The initiative aims to spotlight Lebanon’s unsung “sheroes”— women who’ve leveraged their skills to better the lives of residents in the county.

Nominations, open through Oct. 31, encompass 10 categories: leadership, community, agriculture, athletics, justice, healthy lifestyles/health care, arts, education, military, and science/technology. To qualify, nominees must either live or work within Lebanon County and demonstrate excellence in their category.

Community members are encouraged to nominate women who’ve exhibited a profound impact through their professional or volunteer engagements in Lebanon County. The nomination should highlight the nominee’s unique achievements and longstanding contributions, illustrating how they’ve set a commendable example.

While any nomination is valued, categories with fewer than three candidates will not present awards. Those not inducted this year will automatically be considered in 2025.

However, there are some exclusions. Current members of the Lebanon County Commission for Women, past inductees, and members of the Hall of Fame committee are ineligible. A full list of these individuals is provided on the Commission’s website.

Nomination forms and further details about the Women’s Hall of Fame are accessible at the county website. Enquiries can also be directed to the commission via email at lebanonc4w@gmail.com or their Facebook page.

The commemoration of the inductees is slated for March 20, 2024, during Women’s History Month. The upcoming spring luncheon marks the 12th year since the inception of the Women’s Hall of Fame, a tradition rooted in celebrating the pivotal roles women play in the Lebanon Valley.

The event’s proceeds will bolster various commission endeavors, including scholarships, grants, the Glass Slipper dress sale, and more.
