Annville Township

Criminal Mischief under $1,000 – At 10:38 p.m. Sept. 23, police responded to the 200 block of West Church Street, where a 52-year-old Annville resident said she came outside and saw eggshells splattered on her vehicle’s paint. She was unsure how many people were throwing eggs. Her vehicle, a 2021 Mazda, was not damaged. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194.

Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident, Required Financial Responsibility – At 5:17 p.m. Oct. 6, a single-vehicle crash occurred on the 800 block of Pine Grove Road. A 2000 Honda driven by a 31-year-old Bradenton, Florida, man was traveling north on Pine Grove Road when he lost his balance and overturned in the opposing lane. He let go of the motorcycle after hitting the road, and the motorcycle slid approximately 50 feet from him. He was not wearing a helmet, sustained injuries of unknown severity, and was transported via Bethel Community Ambulance to a nearby hospital. Police charged him with required financial responsibility.

City of Lebanon

Arrest Warrant – On Oct. 5, police issued an arrest warrant for Miriam Naimi, 21, with the original charge being possession of a controlled substance.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident, Obedience to Traffic-Control Devices – At 5:11 p.m. Sept. 27, a two-vehicle crash occurred on SR 22 at Gravel Hill Road. A 2022 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 33-year-old Grantville woman was at a stop sign on Gravel Hill Road when she proceeded into the path of a 2022 Toyota Corolla driven by a 33-year-old Jonestown woman. The two drivers were wearing seatbelts and reported no injuries. The vehicles sustained disabling damage and required towing. Police charged the Grantville driver with obedience to traffic-control devices.

Jonestown Borough

Burglary – Sometime between 3 p.m. Sept. 27 and 10 a.m. Oct. 2, persons suspected to be children gained access to the IU13 school building at 135 S. King St. Damage occurred to a double paned window, valued at $200, and a wall within the building, valued at $50. Items, including candy valued at $5, went missing. Myerstown Borough

Vehicle Accident, Traffic-Control Signals – At 4:47 p.m. Oct. 3, a two-vehicle crash occurred on North College Street at West Lincoln Avenue. A 2021 Subaru Crosstrak driven by a 35-year-old Hamburg was traveling north on North College Street through a green traffic signal. A 2017 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 68-year-old Myerstown woman was traveling east on West Lincoln Avenue and attempted to go through a yellow light. Police said the Hyundai proceeded through the intersection with a steady red traffic signal as the Subaru was traveling through the intersection. The drivers were wearing seatbelts and reported no injuries. The Hyundai sustained functional damage and was able to drive away from the scene. The Subaru sustained disabling damage and was towed. Police charged the Myerstown woman with traffic-control signals.

North Londonderry Township

Harassment – At 9:15 p.m. Sept. 29, police responded to the 1000 block of East Main Street for a domestic dispute involving a 44-year-old Palmyra woman and a 43-year-old Palmyra man. The woman reported that during the dispute, the man spit in her face. Police charged the man with harassment.

Drug Possession – Police charged Guy Roberts, 64, of Lancaster, with possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at 4:07 a.m. Sept. 5 on the 1000 block of East Main Street.

Retail Theft – At 1:22 p.m. Sept. 16, police charged Carl Nelson IV, 26, of Lebanon, with retail theft at the Walmart in Palmyra. Stolen merchandise was valued at $729.89.

Vehicle Accident, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – Police charged a 72-year-old Annville woman after her vehicle crashed into a utility pole on the 1000 block of North Forge Road at 7:33 p.m. Oct. 4.

Palmyra Borough

Harassment – At approximately 12:24 a.m. Aug. 11, police responded to the 00 block of West Main Street for a physical altercation. Police determined that Sally Vanriper, 32, shoved another person involved in the altercation. On Sept. 3, police filed charges of harassment against Vanriper through MDJ Garver’s office.

Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct – At approximately 12:26 a.m. Aug. 11, police responded to the 00 block of West Main Street for a physical altercation. Police said Thaddeus Hawks, 35, punched another person in the face, causing physical injury. On Sept. 3, police filed charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct against Hawks through MDJ Garver’s office.

Theft – On Oct. 5, a green and black 24-inch NEXT mountain bike was reported stolen from the 500 block of South Franklin Street. Anyone with any information regarding the stolen bicycle is asked to contact Palmyra Borough police at 717-838-8189.

Drug Possession, Registration and Certificate of Title Required – At 5:26 p.m. May 4, police pulled over a vehicle on the 400 block of East Main Street and identified the driver as Michael Yarzinsky, 58. Police determined that Yarzinsky was in possession of a small amount of marijuana. On Sept. 8, police charged Yarzinsky with possession as well as registration and certificate of title required through MDJ Garver’s office.

DUI, Driving While Suspended, Restrictions on Alcoholic Beverages – At 10:22 a.m. Sept. 2, police pulled over a vehicle on the 400 block of South Lincoln Street and identified the driver as Joel Santos-Rivera, 45, who was in possession of an open container of alcohol and was driving with a suspended driver’s license due to previous DUIs. Santos-Rivera was visibly intoxicated and subsequently arrested for DUI, police said. Santos-Rivera’s BAC was over 0.3% at the time. On Sept. 27, police charged Santos-Rivera with two counts of DUI — DUI-highest rate of alcohol and DUI-incapable of safe driving — driving while suspended (DUI-related), and restrictions on alcoholic beverages.

DUI, Notice of Accident to Police, Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed – At 10:04 a.m. Sept. 4, police located a crashed vehicle on the 900 block of East Cherry Street and identified the driver as Brett Mader, 60. Police determined that Mader lost control of his vehicle while turning. His vehicle jumped the curb and struck a tree. Mader was under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for DUI. Mader’s BAC was 0.087% at the time. On Sept. 27, police charged Mader with two counts of DUI — DUI-BAC 0.08-0.10 and DUI-incapable of safe driving — and three summary traffic violations: notice of accident to police, driving vehicle at safe speed, and failure to drive within lane.

Bench Warrant Served – At 10:30 a.m. Oct. 5, police responded to the 300 block of North Railroad Street for a suspicious person. Police identified the subject as Mark Maggio, 36, who had an active bench warrant out of Allegheny County for probation violation for escape. Police took Maggio into custody and transported him to LCCB.

Arrest Warrant Served – At 7 p.m. Sept. 28, police arrested Larry Kreiser Jr., 53, on the 100 block of South Forge Road on an active arrest warrant out of Silver Spring Township, with the original charge being retail theft. While searching Kreiser, police found him to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine. On Oct. 5, charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were filed against Kreiser through MDJ Garver’s office.

South Lebanon Township

Unsworn Falsification to Authorities – On April 18, 2022, Edgar Jimenez-Quinones, 25, attempted to purchase a firearm at Shyda’s Outdoor Center, 1635 S. Lincoln Ave. He was not legally permitted to do so, and police charged Jimenez-Quinones with one count of unsworn falsification to authorities.

Sale or Transfer of Firearms, Unsworn Falsification to Authorities – On April 30, 2022, Natasha Pence, 37, attempted to purchase a firearm at Dunham’s Sporting Goods, 829 E. Walnut St. She was not legally permitted to do so, and police charged Pence with one count of sale or transfer of firearms and unsworn falsification to authorities.

Sale or Transfer of Firearms, Unsworn Falsification to Authorities – On April 3, 2022, Benjamin Perez, 22, attempted to purchase a firearm at Dunham’s Sporting Goods, 829 E. Walnut St. He was not legally permitted to do so, and police charged Perez with one count of sale or transfer of firearms and unsworn falsification to authorities.

DUI – At approximately 1:21 a.m. Aug. 27, police pulled over a vehicle on the 1800 block of East Cumberland Street. Police learned that the driver, Jon Garcia, 36, was under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Garcia’s BAC was 0.153% at the time. Police charged Garcia with DUI-highest rate and DUI-incapable of safe driving.

Simple Assault – On Oct. 4, police responded to the 1900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue for a neighborhood dispute. Police determined that Nathan Reinbold, 18, pointed a pellet gun at another person involved in the dispute and charged Reinbold with simple assault.

DUI, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic – At approximately 3:37 a.m. Sept. 10, police pulled over a vehicle on East Cumberland Street and determined that the driver, Paige Shaak, 25, was under the influence of alcohol. Shaak’s BAC was 0.230% at the time. Police charged Shaak with DUI-highest rate, DUI-incapable of safe driving, and driving on roadways laned for traffic.

South Londonderry Township

Hit-and-Run – At 7:40 p.m. Sept. 19, a hit-and-run crash occurred on the 5500 block of Elizabethtown Road. A red SUV struck a tan Honda driven by a 28-year-old Mechanicsburg man and then continued driving north. The red SUV should have damage to the rear bumper area. Vehicle Accident, Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed – At 4:16 p.m. Sept. 26, police investigated a single-vehicle crash in the 5400 block of Elizabethtown Road. A vehicle driven by a 38-year-old Lebanon man struck a guide rail and spun off the road. The vehicle was towed, and no injuries were reported. Police charged the driver with driving vehicle at safe speed.

Simple Assault, Harassment – At 11:54 p.m. Oct. 3, police charged Stephen Patches, 28, of Palmyra, with simple assault and harassment after an altercation at a home on the 100 block of Lawn Road.

Swatara Township

Death Natural – At 5:36 a.m. Sept. 30, police responded to the 2300 block of Quarry Road, where a 64-year-old Lebanon man was found unresponsive in the bathroom by his wife. The victim suffered from multiple health-related conditions and no signs of criminal activity were observed at the scene.
