St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, at 22 S. 6th St., Lebanon, has announced several public events in November.
On Thursday, Nov. 9, SARCC and the LGBT Center of Greater Reading in Lebanon will host a “Friendsgiving” dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. All are welcome. To register or learn more about the event, visit the LGBT Center of Greater Reading in Lebanon’s Facebook page or email jwecker@sarccheals.org.
The annual St. Luke’s Holiday Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, which is the same day as the Lebanon Holiday Parade. The bazaar marketplace will offer baked goods, jams and salsas, handcrafted gifts, plants, books, and more. Free children’s activities, church tours, and musical entertainment will also be provided.
Beginning on Tuesday, November 28, and continuing for the following three Tuesdays, St. Luke’s choirmaster Jason Yannuzzi will host a free hymn-singing workshop from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. The sessions are open to the public regardless of religious background. No singing experience is required, and all materials will be provided. Sign up on the St. Luke’s website under the “Worship/Music” tab.
Earlier this month, the church hosted a Requiem Mass in memory of the faithful departed. The event was held Sunday, Nov. 5, and included the St. Luke’s Festival Choir singing “Requiem: A Thanksgiving for Life” by Sir Philip Ledger as well as traditional Latin texts with poems by the mystical English poet Thomas Traherne.
