Bethel Township

Accidental Death – On Nov. 4, police responded to the 400 block of Camp Strause Road for a report of a cardiac arrest. It was determined that 26-year-old Elizabeth Wilson had died of a suspected intravenous drug overdose and was transported to the Lebanon County Coroner’s Office. An investigation is underway. Fredericksburg Fire Company, Bunker Hill Medic Unit, and Lebanon County Hazmat assisted on the scene.

City of Lebanon

No-Shave November – The Lebanon City Police Department is collaborating with WellSpan Sechler Family Cancer Center for No-Shave November. Officers can forgo the department’s shaving policy for the month of November by participating in the fundraising event. The event is to raise awareness of men’s health issues but will support all cancer patients in need at the center. To kick off the event, the department visited the cancer center. Director Erin Harding and the whole staff gave them a warm welcome and a great tour of the impressive facility, according to the release. Check back for No-Shave November progress.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – At 12:16 a.m. Nov. 7, a crash occurred on SR 22 at Gravel Hill Road. A 2006 Honda CRV driven by a 30-year-old Lebanon woman was traveling east in the right lane of SR 22 and struck a deer that ran into the road. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The Honda was disabled from the crash.

Palmyra Borough

Retail Theft – Rachel Ebling, 28, and Anthony Gibson, 30, were arrested after allegedly stealing merchandise worth $667.87 from Weis Markets, 901 E. Main St., on Oct. 15. According to police, a criminal complaint was filed with MDJ Garver’s office on Oct. 31, charging Gibson with one count of misdemeanor retail theft – conspiracy. Ebling was also suspected of stealing merchandise on Sept. 16, 22, and 26, and Oct. 1, 7, and 12, for a total loss to Weis Markets of $1,050.06. On Oct. 31, a criminal complaint was filed with MDJ Garver’s office, charging Ebling with one count of felony retail theft.

Swatara Township

Hit-and-Run – At approximately 10:30 a.m. Nov. 6, a crash occurred in the 00 block of Troy Avenue. A vehicle was traveling south on Troy Avenue when it went off the right side of the road and struck a Met-Ed utility pole, causing a power outage in the area. Bunker Hill Fire Company assisted on the scene. Charges of duty to give information and render aid are pending investigation.

Vehicle Accident – At 11:12 p.m. Nov. 2, a crash occurred on SR 22 at its intersection with North Lancaster Street. A 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 17-year-old Jonestown male was traveling west on SR 22 when a deer ran into the road. The juvenile swerved to avoid the deer and exited the road, striking a ditch on the right shoulder. The juvenile was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The Hyundai was disabled from the crash.
