Editor’s Note: Michael and Nicole Borrell review Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. The couple aims to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to partner with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

It’s another night of the little critic having dance class so that means it’s a takeout night.

Since we were in the mood for Chinese and halfway towards the east end of the Lebanon Valley, we decided to order from East China in Myerstown.

Located along Rt. 422 at Railroad St., this restaurant offers takeout and a few tables for dine-in service. On this evening, we were one of quite a few getting takeout. They have an online ordering platform; however, it was not working, and we had to phone in our order the old-fashioned way.

Our meal for this evening was General Tso chicken combination dinner ($10.79), beef with garlic sauce combination dinner ($10.79), and crab Rangoon ($6.79).

The chicken dish comes with a thinner General Tso sauce that had a good heat to it. The chicken chunks of white and dark meat were solid pieces with pepper slices on top.

The beef dish comes with a sweet garlic flavor and tender beef with a variety of vegetables mixed in. The crab Rangoon is filled with plenty of cream cheese and crab flavor.

Our take: You’ll get the standard fare of Chinese food. Average prices and portion. As a comfort food, this fulfills your craving. This place is busy and the staff working at the front was very nice to all customers, in person and on the phone. This place is a local favorite for those on the east end. We can see why.

We give this place 🥓🥓🥓🥓.

Be on the lookout as we are gearing up for our next War, which we will be announcing shortly. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the critic crew.
