WellSpan Health has announced that three of its hospitals have been ranked among the best in the country by Healthgrades, a leading resource for consumers seeking information on hospitals and doctors.
WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital has reached the highest level of recognition, being ranked as one of the top 50 hospitals in the United States, while WellSpan York Hospital and WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital have been ranked as one of the country’s top 100 and top 250 hospitals, respectively.

WellSpan York Hospital earned the distinction for its overall clinical performance for more than 30 common conditions and procedures.
WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital was ranked as the top critical care hospital in Pennsylvania and the third-best coronary intervention hospital in the state. WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital was ranked as the second-best critical care hospital in the Commonwealth.
“Our commitment to excellence and high-quality care for our patients is what solidifies WellSpan among the best of the best,” Dr. Michael Seim, senior vice president and chief quality officer at WellSpan Health, said. “We’re honored to have three hospitals recognized as part of Healthgrades’ most elite ranking. This is only possible through the efforts of our providers and staff that work tirelessly for our patients.”
Healthgrades said that 178,000 lives could have been saved this past year if the gap between America’s top 250 hospitals and non-ranking hospitals had been closed.
