The critic crew got a chance to pop out for a Sunday evening meal. While looking for places to go, we recalled there was a place in town that we have not been to yet.

Located in downtown Lebanon, Snitz Creek Brewery sits at the corner of 9th and Cumberland streets. The restaurant has a long bar, dining area, as well as an enclosed exterior dining area.

For our meals tonight, we had pretzel dipped fish fry ($19.99), house smoked brisket melt ($16), and a beer flight ($14).

The beer flight is four 5 oz. pours. Our choices this evening was Citra Haze, Opening Day, Hopper Dropper, and Bourbon Barrel Opera Fudge Stout. The beer selection has something for everyone’s pallet. The bourbon barrel OFS stood out to this critic with its strong, rich flavor. One to enjoy as a post-meal treat.

The pretzel fish fry comes freshly dipped and fried, served with fries, coleslaw, and a pickled red onion aioli. The excess coating creates some over fried areas on the edges, but the fish is moist and is well enjoyed. The aioli is a nice accompaniment.

The brisket melt comes one sourdough with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and horseradish sauce. The brisket is well-smoked and large, tender chunks adorn this sandwich. It was light on the horsy sauce, which along with the cheddar made it hard to taste the horsy sauce. This critic added some of the house lava sauce to add some kick and altogether it made for a great sandwich.

Our take: This place offers a pub menu and tasty beers to go with it. The food is freshly made and has some different dishes than the other Snitz locations. The atmosphere can be vibrant with plenty of TVs as well as some more cozy corners for a more intimate encounter.

We give this place 🥓🥓🥓🥓.

Be on the lookout as we will soon be announcing the entrants for the second season of Pizza Wars.
