Tickets are now on sale for a spaghetti dinner — eat in or take out — that will be held on an evening in early March to benefit a nonprofit organization giving hope to women and children in shelters across Lebanon, Lancaster, and Dauphin counties.
On Saturday, March 9, the Pillows of Love fundraiser will run from 4 to 7 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, at 40 W. Pine St., Palmyra, and will feature a spaghetti and meatball dinner with a side salad and a beverage. A donation will open up the option for dessert.
Following the in-person meal, guests will have an opportunity to speak with Pillows of Love board members, learn more about the nonprofit, and tour the new volunteer center in the church.
Those interested can purchase their $12 meal ticket with cash or check at the church office, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
The funds raised at this event will go directly towards Pillows of Love’s mission.
The nonprofit organization was founded in 2004 and has delivered more than 50,000 handmade pillowcases and Bibles to women and children in shelters across its coverage area during the two decades since then.
Pillows of Love use a $25 donation to buy 12 bibles; $50 to create six pillowcases; $100 to buy a bolt of fabric; $250 to cover the cost of heat transferring embellishments; and $500 to purchase equipment needed to produce the pillowcases like sewing machines and heat presses.
