A great way to show your support for the William D. Lebo Memorial Foundation and pick up a new umbrella for yourself is to purchase one for the second annual William D. Lebo Memorial Umbrella Walk on Thursday, March 28, at 7:30 a.m.

The umbrellas are offered in a 42-inch or compact size for $25 and a 58-inch or golf size for $40. They are available in police blue or classic green and white with Lebo’s end-of-watch date and the foundation’s logo.

Umbrellas are available in 58-inch golf size (left) and 42-inch compact size (right).

To purchase an umbrella, stop by the Lebanon City Police Department main desk or the William Penn Restaurant and Bar, which is located on the corner of 7th and Cumberland streets.

Proceeds from the umbrella purchases will benefit the foundation and other projects designed to improve life in Lebanon County.

It is encouraged to bring the new umbrellas, or umbrellas from home, on the Memorial Walk. The walking route follows the same route that Lebo took on his way to work each day as a way of showing his support for the community.

Sunday, March 31, 2024, will mark two years since the Lebanon police Lieutenant was shot and killed while responding to a residential break-in. Last year, on the first anniversary of Lebo’s death, Lebanon police honored Lebo’s memory by retracing his steps from his home near Southwest Park to the former headquarters of the Lebanon police force in the Lebanon County Municipal Building on S. 8th Street, on the way to a remembrance ceremony held at Lebanon City Hall.
