Gretna Music has announced the 2024 schedule of performances at Mount Gretna Playhouse.

The series includes world-class musical performances by Grammy Award-winning musicians and artists from a wide variety of genres, according to a press release from artistic director John Nasukaluk Clare.

Apollo’s Fire performs at Mount Gretna on July 22.

Music Under the Trees runs from June 9 through Sept. 7 at the playhouse, 200 Pennsylvania Ave., Mount Gretna. Tickets range from $5 to $42. Tickets and more information is available by calling 717-361-1508 or online at gretnamusic.org.

Gretna Music was founded in 1975 and provides “a concentration of affordable opportunities for all ages to experience live world-class classical, jazz, world music, family programming and other cultural programming during the summer, the only summer-long series of its kind in central PA,” the release states.

The pavilion-style playhouse “offers remarkable acoustics,” Clare said in the release. “It is open on the sides for summer breezes, allowing the occasional birds and cicadas to join in while the musicians play. Seating area is covered, as is the stage.”

Gretna Music for Kids is a free series held, with one exception, at the Hall of Philosophy, 212 Gettysburg Ave, Mount Gretna.

  • July 1, Animal Friends with Ulysses Quartet (10 a.m.)
  • July 22, Pennsylvania PBS’s Mr. Music (10 a.m.)
  • Aug. 12, Build-an-organ! (10 a.m., at Mount Gretna United Methodist Church, 4th St. and Boehm Ave., Mount Gretna)
