On Saturday, May 25, Seltzer’s Smokehouse Meats will host Harvey Seltzer Day, a community event to celebrate the butcher who created the store more than a century ago.

The family-friendly event is scheduled for Saturday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Seltzer’s Outlet Store, 209 N. Railroad St., Palmyra.

During the event, guests can enjoy free food, raffles for prizes, including a gift box of grill supplies and branded cornhole boards, games, caricatures, a live radio broadcast with Froggy 100.1, and other activities.

The Smokehouse Experience Program, a new addition to the Seltzer’s Outlet Store, will launch at the event. It was soft-launched on Monday, April 1.

The program will run year-round on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, departing at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m., and Saturdays, departing at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m. It will allow guests to experience the new museum space and take pictures and videos of the smokehouses during a guided tour of the facilities.

The 30- to 45-minute experience involves dirt, soot, and smoke. Tourgoers must wear closed-toe shoes and must be 18 or older or between the ages of 5 and 17 with an adult aged 18 or older.

Typically, guests would need to purchase tickets at $5 and register 24 hours in advance to join a tour. But on Saturday, May 25, all tours will be free and will depart every half hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Harvey Seltzer Day is an event that Seltzer’s Outlet Store is planning to host every year on the last Saturday in May. The event is free and open to all ages. Guests are invited to come and enjoy a day of fun and celebration at the Seltzer’s Outlet Store.
