MOD Pizza, which opened in North Cornwall Township in 2020, abruptly ceased operations last week at its 1501 Quentin Road location.
The made-to-order pizza chain, based in Bellevue, Washington, has closed more than two dozen stores so far this year, a downsizing that followed the appointment of a new CEO, Beth Scott, who had previously been the company’s chief restaurant officer.
A spokesperson said the decision was a financial one.
“Despite the best efforts of the team in Lebanon, the restaurant had underperformed for some time,” said Rick Van Warner, MOD spokesperson. “This was strictly a business decision and all employees received severance pay.”
Van Warner said that there are no further plans at this time for MOD Pizza’s two stores in Lancaster, located at 158 Fruitville Pike and 120 Rohrerstown Road.
