Criminal mischief under $1,000 – At 1:47 p.m. June 19, police responded to Fredericksburg Elementary School, where unknown juveniles were reportedly climbing onto the school’s roof and spray-painting the air conditioning units. Anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to contact PSP Jonestown.

Vehicle accident, roadways laned for traffic – Around 7:43 p.m. June 22, a 2019 Kia Optima driven by a 36-year-old Fredericksburg woman was traveling north on Airport Road at 20 to 25 mph when the Kia left the road to the right and struck a high concrete curb and wall. The Kia sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained a possible injury but was not transported. Police charged her with driving on roadways laned for traffic, inspection required, and emissions required.

Vehicle accident, roadways laned for traffic – Around 9:28 p.m. June 22, a 2006 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide motorcycle driven by a 49-year-old Fredericksburg man was traveling west on Frystown Road when the driver failed to maintain control on a curve, exited the road to the left and was thrown off the bike. The man was using a motorcycle helmet, sustained an injury of unknown severity, and was transported via Life Lion EMS to Hershey Medical Center for treatment. Police charged him with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

City of Lebanon

Retail theft – Police charged Melvin Rivera-Colon, 27, on June 23 after an incident on the 800 block of South 12th Street.

Drug possession – Police charged James Mclaughlin, 51, with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended on June 19 after a traffic stop on the 200 block of Crowell Street.

Possession with intent to distribute – Police charged Stefani Gass, 22, with possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a domestic disturbance June 20 on the 400 block of Freeman Street.

DUI – Police charged Nicholas Conrad, 34, with DUI and traffic-control signals after a traffic stop in the area of 12th and Chestnut streets.

Retail theft – Police charged Daimon Paul, 39, after an incident on June 23 on the 800 block of South 12th Street.

Drug possession – Police charged Carlos Alvarado-Hernandez, 51, with possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop on June 22 in the area of 8th and Church streets. Police also found Alvarado-Hernandez was wanted by the Osceola Sheriff’s Department in Florida.

Arrest warrant – On June 25, police issued an arrest warrant against Raymond Ortiz, 58, with the original charges being burglary and receiving stolen property.

Drug possession – Police charged Cristopher Rojas-Maldonado, 22, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident May 19 on the 200 block of South Partridge Street.

Loitering and prowling at night, receiving stolen property – Police charged Anthony Benavidez, 23, with loitering and prowling at night, receiving stolen property, and public drunkenness after police responded to a report of a suspicious person on the 200 block of Guilford Street on June 26.

Drug possession, false identification – Police charged Laurence Lopez-Mejia, 32, with possession of a controlled substance and false identification to law enforcement after a traffic stop on June 28 on the 200 block of North 5th Avenue.

Endangering the welfare of children – Police charged Zuleika Medina-Mercado, 24, with felony endangering the welfare of children after an incident June 27 on the 500 block of Cumberland Street.

Drug possession – Police charged Zakee Ross, 20, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop June 26 on the 1300 block of Cumberland Street.

False identification, disorderly conduct – Police charged Wilfredo Santana-Santiago, 53, with false identification to law enforcement and disorderly conduct after a report of a suspicious person in the area of 9th and Cumberland streets.

Welcome three new officers – The Lebanon City Police Department congratulates their newest patrolmen: Mackenzie Battle, Logan Firestine, and Lawson Seyfert, all of whom graduated from the 124th Harrisburg Area Community College Police Academy on Thursday, June 20. The department gives a special thanks to the James Biever Police-Community Alliance for providing them with scholarships to attend the academy and asked the public to help them in welcoming the new officers to the community.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle accident – At 3:42 p.m. June 20, a crash occurred on Allentown Boulevard involving a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old Palmyra woman, accompanied by a 2-year-old Palmyra boy, and a vehicle driven by a 79-year-old Pine Grove man. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and sustained suspected minor injuries but refused transport. The juvenile was using a rear-facing child safety seat and sustained a suspected minor injury but was not transported.

Jackson Township

Vehicle accident – At 9:56 a.m. June 16, a 1979 Chevrolet C10 driven by a 27-year-old Richland man, accompanied by a 5-year-old Richland boy, was traveling south on North Race Road when a steering problem occurred. The Chevrolet struck a utility pole on the right shoulder and exited the road into a cornfield. The Chevrolet sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The man and child were wearing seatbelts, sustained no injuries, and were evaluated on the scene by the Myerstown First Aid Unit but refused transport.

Lost property – At 4:15 p.m. June 18, police responded to the 00 block of North Race Street for a report of a found .38 Smith & Wesson revolver and ammo, which were seized, taken to PSP Jonestown, and placed into evidence pending the return or destruction of the items. Anyone with information on these items is asked to contact PSP Jonestown.

Vehicle accident, stop and yield signs – At 12:10 p.m. June 15, a crash occurred on South Ramona Road at King Street involving a 2015 Ram driven by a 41-year-old Bechtelsville man and a 2006 Ford Focus driven by a 35-year-old Lebanon man. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and sustained no injuries. Police charged the Bechtelsville man with stop signs and yield signs.

North Londonderry Township

Disorderly conduct, public drunkenness – At 11:20 p.m. June 14, police responded to the Washbasket Laundromat, 1348 E. Main St., Palmyra, for a disturbance. Police made contact with a 29-year-old Cleona man and a 28-year-old Myerstown woman who reported having an argument inside the laundromat, where a window was damaged as a result of the argument. Police filed charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness against both individuals through MDJ Warner’s office.

Public drunkenness – At 1:43 a.m. June 22, police responded to the 1000 block of Grubb Road for a subject knocking on his neighbor’s door. Police found a 57-year-old Palmyra man on the property, intoxicated, and filed charges of public drunkenness against the man through MDJ Warner’s office.

Harassment – Police charged a 32-year-old Harrisburg woman with summary harassment for her involvement in an incident at the Palmyra Area Pool, 1122 Park Drive, Palmyra, at 6:18 p.m. June 22. The woman slapped a 16-year-old Annville boy after she thought he intentionally threw a ball at her son’s face. No injuries were reported.

Disorderly conduct – At 9:46 p.m. June 26, police charged a 24-year-old Palmyra man with disorderly conduct following a traffic stop on the 500 block of Campbelltown Road in which he was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a grinder.

Palmyra Borough

Vehicle accident – At 12:48 p.m. June 19, thisacrash occurred on East Main Street at North Green Street involving a 2021 Ford Explorer and a 2024 Honda CRV.

Richland Borough

Harassment – On June 22, police responded to the 00 block of East Main Street for a domestic incident between a mother and son. Police determined that both parties, a 54-year-old Richland woman and a 33-year-old Richland man, were subject to physical contact by pushing and shoving each other. Police charged both parties with harassment.

South Lebanon Township

Drug possession – On May 31, police responded to Cedar Crest High School for suspicious activity and learned that illegal narcotics were found inside a former student’s backpack while she was there for an event. Police charged Abigail Thomas, 18, with misdemeanor possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance (psilocybin mushroom pills).

Invasion of privacy, theft by unlawful taking – Around 1:10 p.m. May 12, police received a complaint regarding a guest who took unauthorized pictures inside a home. Police also learned that a theft occurred inside the residence. Police charged Manuel Colon, 50, with misdemeanor invasion of privacy and misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking.

South Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident – At 5:13 a.m. June 18, police responded to a tree down on South Forge Road near Center Drive. While on the scene, police observed a vehicle driven by a 55-year-old Manheim woman drive into the tree. The Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Department assisted. No injuries were reported.

Vehicle accident – At 10:18 a.m. June 24, a box truck driven by a 30-year-old Temple man rear-ended a utility truck driven by a 44-year-old Carlisle man on the 2800 block of Horseshoe Pike. The Carlisle man reported that a vehicle in front of his vehicle stopped suddenly, causing him to brake abruptly. The Temple man was not able to stop his vehicle before striking the Carlisle man’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Unspecified Township

Fourth of July enforcement – Pennsylvania State Police in Troop L (Berks, Lebanon, and Schuylkill counties) will be strictly enforcing violations of the Pennsylvania vehicle code over the Fourth of July weekend. The enforcement effort promotes highway safety and safe travel. Troopers will target DUI, aggressive driving, tailgating, seatbelt usage, and speeding.

Western Lebanon County Regional Police

Drug possession – On May 26, the Western Lebanon County Regional Police Department (formerly known as Palmyra Borough Police Department) was conducting a traffic detail for Click It or Ticket and pulled over a Volkswagen Jetta for speeding on the 300 block of East Main Street. During the stop, police found the passenger, Kaden Thierwechter, 21, was in possession of a small amount of marijuana without having a medical card. On June 13, a criminal complaint was filed through MDJ Ditzler’s office against Thierwechter for possession.

DUI, careless driving – Around 8:39 p.m. May 17, police responded to the 600 block of East Main Street where the driver of a yellow Ford Focus struck a parked car in the west lane. Police determined that the driver, Nicholas Stoner, 28, was under the influence of alcohol and placed him under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Stoner’s BAC was 0.291% at the time of the crash. On June 20, a criminal complaint was filed through MDJ Warner’s office, charging Stoner with misdemeanor DUI-highest rate of alcohol, misdemeanor DUI-incapable of safe driving, and summary careless driving.

Fireworks reminder – In 2017, Pennsylvania fireworks laws were amended to allow the purchase and use of “Class C” or “consumer-grade” fireworks that include firecrackers, Roman candles, bottle rockets, and similar aerial fireworks that contain a maximum of 50 milligrams of explosive material.ย The law contains the following conditions and prohibitions, which are summary violations:

  • (a) Conditions – A person who is at least 18 years of age and meets the requirements of this article may purchase, possess, and use consumer fireworks.
  • (b) Prohibitions – A person may not intentionally ignite or discharge: consumer fireworks on public or private property without the express permission of the owner; consumer fireworks or sparkling devices within, or throw consumer fireworks or sparkling devices from, a motor vehicle or building; consumer fireworks or sparkling devices into or at a motor vehicle or building or at another person; consumer fireworks or sparkling devices while the person is under the influence of alcohol, controlled substance, or another drug; consumer fireworks within 150 feet of an occupied structure.
