Bethel Township

Vehicle accident – At 8:12 a.m. July 4, a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class driven by a 20-year-old Reading woman was traveling east on SR 22 when she failed to maintain her lane and exited the road to the right, striking a mailbox and a guide rail. The woman sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported via Life Lion EMS to Reading Hospital. The Benz was towed by Motter’s. Police charged the woman with driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.

Theft – At 6:30 p.m. July 5, police received a report of items being stolen from the 3000 block of South Pine Grove Street. Two Arlo Essential security cameras, valued at $250, were stolen from the location. The victim was a 42-year-old Fredericksburg woman.

City of Lebanon

Drug possession – Police charged Allen Hower, 20, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident July 9 in the area of Church and Decatur streets.

Drug possession – Police charged Leon Duncan, 44, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident July 6 on the 700 block of East Lehman Street.

Drug possession – Police charged Yarimary Mercado-Dejesus, 42, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop July 6 on the 1000 block of Lehman Street.

PFA order violation – Police charged Luis Torres-Rivera, 42, after an incident July 4 on the 600 block of Willow Street.

Fleeing or attempting to elude officer, resisting arrest – Police charged Kedrin Sanchez-Figueroa, 20, with fleeing or attempting to elude officer, resisting arrest, traffic-control signals, and one-way roadways after a vehicle pursuit July 10 on North 8th and Church streets.

Drug possession – Police charged Koye Brown, 27, with possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a report of a suspicious person July 6 on the 700 block of East Lehman Street.

Drug possession – Police charged Josue Rivera-Rosario, 30, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer made contact with him on July 10 on North Gannon and Monument streets while on patrol.

Criminal mischief – Police charged Joshua Flory, 46, after an incident July 10 on the 1000 block of Maple Street.

Drug possession – Police charged Crystal Davis, 36, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident July 10 on the 400 block of North Cherry Street.

Attempted burglary – Lebanon city police are investigating an attempted burglary in the early morning hours of July 8 on the 300 block of East Lehman Street. The suspect removed a hat and a small American flag (pictured below) from the property. The Lebanon City Police Department is growing – Welcome Patrolwoman Christina Day! Officer Day graduated from the Harrisburg Area Community College Police Academy in 2022 and is currently completing her extensive 18 weeks of field training.

Also, congratulations to new hires Hunter Brown and Zachary Derolf! They attended the Harrisburg Area Community College Police Academy on July 8 to receive their Act 120 Training. The Lebanon City Police Department would like to thank the James Biever Police-Community Alliance for their ongoing support by assisting with sending new hires to the police academy.

Beyond the Call of Duty – Ride to Remember – On June 1, “Beyond the Call of Duty – Ride to Remember” will begin traveling across the country to honor fallen police officers. The small group will start in Washington state and will travel with motorcycles and a large trailer depicting images of fallen officers. Their mission is to “ensure that no officer is forgotten, that their families know their loved one has not been forgotten, and that there is recognition, support, and understanding to help them heal. We also support department safety and training to help lower the number of fallen officers we see each year.” At 3 p.m. July 10, the ride will arrive at City Hall, 735 Cumberland St., where “like every other day, we will honor and remember the life and service of Lieutenant William ‘Bill’ Lebo.”

North Lebanon Township

DUI – At 2:15 a.m. July 7, police stopped a 2012 Honda Civic Del Sol driven by Cassandra Weatherholtz, 53, of Lebanon, on the 00 block of Old Ebenezer Road for a moving violation. Police observed odors of alcohol emitting from the interior of the vehicle. Weatherholtz submitted to SFSTs, showed signs of impairment, and was taken into custody for the suspicion of DUI-alcohol.

Disorderly conduct – On June 27, police charged a 23-year-old Lebanon man after he yelled profanities toward an officer.

Illegal operation of vehicle without ignition interlock – On June 28, police charged Anthony Maldonado-Colon, 35, of Lebanon, after a traffic stop on East Cumberland Street and Narrows Drive. Police observed Maldonado-Colon with an open alcoholic slushie while driving.

Illegal operation of vehicle without ignition interlock – On June 29, police charged Troy Hertzog, 42, of Myerstown, after a traffic stop on the 1900 block of East Cumberland Street.

Defiant trespass, disorderly conduct – On July 6, police charged Kyle McDaniel, 32, of Lebanon, with defiant trespass after being told to leave Moyer Nissan by staff. Police also charged McDaniel with disorderly conduct for yelling at the staff and causing alarm.

Burglary, theft – On June 12, Jessica Mitchell, 35, entered Wendy’s at 1490 E. Lehman St., where cash and tools were missing and property was damaged. On June 15, Mitchell entered East Lebanon Auto at 2195 E. Cumberland St., broke into a lockbox, took sets of keys, and drove away in a Chevrolet Equinox.

North Londonderry Township

Disorderly conduct – Police charged a 34-year-old Palmyra man following an incident at Gravel Hill Church, 131 Gravel Hill Road, on July 5. The man was inside the church for daycare drop-off when he became agitated with staff members and began yelling and threatening to assault a staff member.

Vandalism – During the mid-afternoon hours on July 6, police received four calls related to vandalism in the neighboring Oaks and Londoncroft developments. Four trampoline webbings were cut, and an Intex pool was punctured and sliced. It appears that the incidents occurred during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact North Londonderry Township police at 717-838-5276.

Vehicle accident, following too closely – At 5:13 p.m. July 7, a crash occurred on Lingle Avenue and Elm Street when a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Palmyra man struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Palmyra woman. The man’s vehicle was then struck by a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old Morgantown woman after he entered the opposite lane in an attempt to avoid the Palmyra woman’s vehicle. The man’s and the Morgantown woman’s vehicles were towed from the scene. The man was transported to Hershey Medical Center with unspecified injuries. Police charged him with following too closely and operating a vehicle without an official certificate of inspection. The Palmyra Fire Department and Fire Police assisted on the scene.

South Lebanon Township

Terroristic threats, simple assault – Around 4:53 a.m. July 4, police responded to the 900 block of South 3rd Street for a domestic dispute and arrested Dylan Loy, 28, who was charged him with misdemeanor terroristic threats, misdemeanor simple assault, and summary criminal mischief.

Theft by deception – On May 17, police received a report of a theft from Shyda’s Outdoor Center and learned that Richard Blandy, 57, reversed charges on a credit card that he previously used to purchase firearms from Shyda’s. Police charged Blandy with misdemeanor theft by deception.

Tampering with physical evidence, drug possession – Around 9:24 a.m. June 22, police pulled over a vehicle on East Walnut Street and learned that the driver, Jesse Heisey, 50, was in possession of illegal narcotics. When confronted with the narcotics possession, Heisey threw the items on the ground and attempted to destroy them by stepping on them. Police charged Heisey with misdemeanor tampering with physical evidence, two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine and methadone), misdemeanor possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, and summary operating a vehicle without a valid inspection.

Drug possession – Around 10:21 p.m. June 30, police pulled over a vehicle on Klein Avenue and learned that the driver, Brandon Weaver, 25, had an active warrant for his arrest and was in possession of illegal narcotics. Police charged Weaver with misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, summary driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked, and summary duties at stop signs.

Welcome Officer Jacob Marderness – The South Lebanon Township Police Department welcomes its newest police officer, Officer Jacob Marderness, who graduated from the Reading Police Academy’s Act 120 Training on June 28. South Londonderry Township

Drug possession – At 12:10 a.m. Oct. 1, police investigated a suspicious vehicle occupied by four male subjects in the Salem United Church of Christ overflow lot. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and related drug paraphernalia. Police charged Donovan Aiello, 18, of Palmyra, and Aiden Hirschelman, 18, of Palmyra, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

DUI, driving on roadways laned for traffic – At 5:01 p.m. May 26, a vehicle driven by Veressa Finzel, 32, of Middletown, was heading west on Elizabethtown Road when she veered off the road and struck a telephone pole. The vehicle was occupied by two passengers. Minor injuries were reported on the scene. Police placed Finzel under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Finzel’s BAC was 0.074% at the time of the crash. Police charged Finzel with DUI-incapable of safe driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Vehicle accident – At 9:02 p.m. July 6, a Nissan Rogue driven by a 21-year-old Palmyra man struck a parked Nissan Pathfinder’s rear door. The Pathfinder was parked on the 2900 block of Horseshoe Pike, and a man opened the door when the crash occurred. A passenger in the Palmyra man’s vehicle, a 20-year-old Johnstown resident, sustained a minor injury. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Swatara Township

Sexual assault – On July 7, police were informed of an alleged sexual assault that occurred on July 5 on North Mill Street. The victim was a 19-year-old Jonestown woman.

Union Township

DUI – At 9:44 p.m. June 27, police stopped a 2009 Subaru Legacy Outback driven by Roger Weaver, 56, of Jonestown, on the 2900 block of SR 72 for a moving violation. Police observed odors of alcohol emitting from the interior of the vehicle. Weaver submitted to SFSTs, showed signs of impairment, and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI-alcohol.

Western Lebanon County Regional Police

Possession of a firearm by a minor – On July 5, police received a tip that a 17-year-old male runaway was staying at a trailer in Palm City Park, Annville. The tip stated that the juvenile may be armed with a handgun. Police observed the juvenile outside of the residence and directed him not to move, but he ran inside the residence with police in pursuit. The juvenile reached into his waistband and attempted to hide a 9mm handgun. After a brief struggle, police took the juvenile into custody and transported him to the Western Lebanon County Regional Police Department, where he was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor and misdemeanor resisting arrest. The juvenile was turned over to the Lebanon County Juvenile Probation Department. South Londonderry Township police and Pennsylvania State Police assisted.

Bench warrant served – Around 10:02 a.m. July 4, police initiated a traffic stop on a gray Honda sedan on the 700 block of West Main Street. Police identified the driver as Michael Tucci, 53, of Hershey. Tucci currently had a bench warrant out of the York County Sheriff’s Department for a probation violation, with the original charge being misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Police took Tucci into custody and transported him to LCCB.

Simple assault – On June 26, police received a call about a physical domestic dispute that occurred on the 00 block of South Manheim Street. Police determined that the victim suffered injuries caused by physical contact with Jerry Ruhnke, 61. Police arrested Ruhnke for simple assault-domestic violence and transported him to LCCB.

Bench warrant served – Around 12:11 a.m. July 11, police observed Clifford Stiffey, 42, loitering outside of private property on the 600 block of East North Avenue. Police found that Stiffey had a bench warrant out of Derry Township, with the original charge being misdemeanor DUI. Police took Stiffey into custody and transported him to Derry Township, where custody was transferred.

Criminal mischief – On July 4, 5, and 6, police received multiple calls related to damage to windows on vehicles and residences on the 400 block of East Maple Street, the 400 block of East Lebanon Street, and the 100 block of Station Corner Drive in Annville. Police determined that the damage was being caused by someone shooting BBs through the windows overnight. Anyone with cameras in these areas is asked to check for identifying information.
