Schaefferstown’s 6th Annual WWII Weekend at Historic Alexander Schaeffer Farm

Free | 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, July 27 | 213 S Carpenter St, Schaefferstown

Schaefferstown’s WWII Weekend returns for its sixth year among Pennsylvania’s wide variety of historical reenactment events. WWII Weekend will be held July 27th – 28th, 2024 at the Historic Alexander Schaeffer Farm in honor of the town’s 222 men and women who served their country during World War II. The war itself claimed the lives of just three of our boys, however the number of surviving World War II veterans from Schaefferstown and elsewhere in the country continue to dwindle as time marches on. East Penn Reenactors Group, in coordination with Historic Schaefferstown, Inc., have taken it upon themselves to ensure that the stories of our neighbors from the Greatest Generation will be commemorated for years to come. Their service and sacrifice exemplify both the best our small community has to offer, and ultimately the will of the American people to staunchly oppose tyranny and oppression, wherever or whenever it may plague the world.

The event will include two days of period encampments, military vehicles, and reenactment battles replicating combat scenarios in Italy during the summer of 1944. EPRG specifically will be focusing on the Rome – Arno campaign, a period of fighting in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations which by 1944 had become the war’s “forgotten front”.

Admission is free to all members of the public! Event parking will be $5 per car CASH OR CARD.
