Diane Harlow, director of workforce and education of the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce, has been selected as one of 35 candidates from across the nation to participate in a program offered by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
“Being selected for the U.S. Chamber Business Leads Fellowship is a significant honor and an exciting opportunity,” Harlow said in a statement announcing her selection into the program offered by the world’s largest business organization. “It represents both a recognition of the chamber’s accomplishments and provides a platform to enhance my leadership skills, learn and collaborate with fellow professionals, and contribute to the growth and success of our business community.”
The Business Leads Fellowship Program was created to empower leaders from state and local chambers, economic development agencies, and trade associations to become agents of change within the education and workforce pipeline.
The eight-month program will provide its 10th cohort with in-person and virtual workshops focused on development across the talent pipeline, which includes early childhood education, K-12, college and career preparation, postsecondary education, and workforce development. These workshops will be taught by leaders who have put these lessons into practice themselves.
“We created the Business Leads Fellowship Program in response to the needs of our state and local chamber partners,” said Caitlin Codella Low, vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. “They, better than anyone, see the critical link between education and economic development, and we are glad to be able to support them as they take on this critical leadership role in their community.”
Upon completion of the program, Harlow will join a network of more than 350 chambers of commerce and statewide associations across the U.S. that continue to address the industry’s most pressing issues.
