Bethel Township
Vehicle accident – Around 4:56 p.m. Aug. 4, a crash occurred at Mount Zion and Frystown roads. A 2012 Honda Pilot driven by a 64-year-old Orange, New Jersey, man accompanied by four other individuals was traveling north on Mount Zion Road and came to the four-way stop at the intersection with Frystown Road. A 2019 Kia Sportage driven by a 43-year-old Myerstown woman stopped on Frystown Road and was traveling east through the intersection. The Honda failed to stop and was struck by the Kia, causing disabling damage. All occupants were wearing seatbelts and sustained no injuries. Police charged the New Jersey man with stop and yield sign violations.
Vehicle accident – At 6:12 a.m. Aug. 2, a crash occurred on the 300 block of Union Road. A 2010 Toyota Tundra driven by a 19-year-old Bethel man was traveling south on Union Road and failed to negotiate a left curve. The Toyota struck a utility pole, crossed over the road, and came to rest in a field. The driver removed the Toyota from the scene and failed to notify authorities of the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. Police charged him with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Vehicle accident – At 12:19 p.m. July 31, a 2014 Chevrolet Aveo driven by a 57-year-old Fredericksburg woman was traveling west on Main Street when a 2020 Mazda CX3 driven by a 29-year-old Ephrata woman, who was stopped on South Center Street, proceeded without clearance. When the Mazda entered Main Street, it was struck by the Chevrolet, causing disabling damage to both vehicles. The Ephrata woman was wearing a seatbelt, sustained a suspected minor injury, and was transported via Life Lion EMS to the Hershey Medical Center. The Fredericksburg woman was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. Police charged the Ephrata woman with stop and yield sign violations. Fire and EMS assisted on the scene.
Harassment – At 12:23 p.m. July 20, police responded to Sunrise Court for an inactive domestic and filed a non-traffic citation for harassment against a 56-year-old Lebanon man after an incident with a 52-year-old Lebanon woman.
City of Lebanon
Drug possession – On Aug. 5, police charged Juan Cortes, 19, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on the 500 block of Weidman Street.
Retail theft – On Aug. 3, police charged Barbara Hall, 59, after an incident on the 800 block of South 12th Street.
Recklessly endangering another person – On July 25, police charged Natanael Rodriguez Valladares, 29, after an incident on the 400 block of North 4th Street.
Terroristic threats – On July 31, police charged Michael Suarez, 52, with terroristic threats and simple assault by physical menace after responding to a report of threats on the 1100 block of Nowlen Street.
Accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property – On Aug. 3, police charged Eleuterio Reyes-Deleon Jr., 49, with accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property and driving while suspended after responding to a hit-and-run in the area of North 10th and Lehman streets.
Terroristic threats, simple assault – On Aug. 3, police charged Frank Morales, 47, with terroristic threats, simple assault, possession of a controlled substance, public drunkenness, and disorderly conduct after responding to a disturbance on the 500 block of North 8th Street.
Theft by unlawful taking – On Aug. 9, police charged Tishe Hummel, 42, after an incident on the 1000 block of Church Street.
Simple assault – On Aug. 8, police charged Khalilah Stephens, 25, with simple assault-domestic violence after responding to a report of a domestic disturbance on the 100 block of Locust Street.
Trespass – On Aug. 7, police charged Thomas Davis, 57, after an incident on the 1200 block of Cumberland Street.
Tampering with ignition interlock – On Aug. 6, police charged Scott Lingle, 58, with illegal to operate a vehicle without ignition interlock and tampering with ignition interlock after a traffic stop that occurred in the area of Lehman and Liberty streets.
DUI – At 10:47 p.m. July 19, police pulled over a 2006 Nissan on the 700 block of North 8th Street and found Cristhian Perez Galarza, 36, of Lebanon, to be driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Detective Camp – The City of Lebanon hosted a Detective Camp with the Lebanon City Detectives on July 26 at Southwest Park. With the help of detectives, children enjoyed a morning of investigating a crime scene. Some of the stations included dusting for prints and marking and photographing evidence. Lebanon City Police Department will host another camp in 2025.
Our community brought its own sunshine for National Night Out –
National Night Out 2024 looked a bit different this year with the storms rolling into Lebanon County. Making the best of the weather conditions, the event was held in the gymnasium at the Lebanon Salvation Army. The night was filled with activities for all ages, food, music, and meeting some of our Lebanon City law enforcement. What a great turnout! Thank you to all who attended this event.
This was the 16th year the Lebanon City Police Department and the Lebanon Salvation Army partnered to bring this event to the community. Thank you to Capt. Kendall and Lt. Mahida for preparing a welcoming space, collecting food donations, and more. Package theft – Lebanon city police are looking to identify this individual, who allegedly removed a package from the porch of a home on the 500 block of Canal Street. Anyone with information regarding his identity or the incident is asked to contact Lebanon city police or submit a tip through CRIMEWATCH.
East Hanover Township
Vehicle accident – At 2:12 p.m. Aug. 2, a crash occurred on SR 22 East, just west of SR 934. A 2013 Volvo D13 was traveling in the left lane next to a 2022 Audi traveling in the right lane. According to a witness and the driver of the Audi, the Volvo merged into the right lane without clearance and sideswiped the Audi, which then struck an embankment along the right shoulder. Both vehicles came to a rest along the right shoulder of SR 22. No injuries were reported. The Volvo sustained minor damage. The Audi sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Blatt & Tillett. Police charged the driver of the Volvo with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Myerstown Borough
Harassment – At 10:21 p.m. Aug. 9, an incident occurred on South Railroad Street as a 40-year-old Myerstown woman attempted to stop an altercation in a parking lot, and an unknown female pulled her by the hair.
Firearm investigation – At 11 a.m. Dec. 30, 2023, PSP Jonestown – Criminal Investigation Unit received a firearms investigation packet from the PSP Firearms Division regarding a PICS violation on the 00 block of East Main Avenue.
Theft by deception – At 2:27 p.m. Aug. 7, police received a report that a 22-year-old Myerstown man was scammed out of about $1,687 during an online transaction through Venmo while attempting to sell a grand piano he had listed on Facebook Marketplace.
North Cornwall Township
DUI – At 4:40 p.m. May 9, police charged Scott Anthony Adams, 63, of Halifax, with DUI and disregard of a traffic lane after an incident on Quentin Road.
DUI – At 2:08 a.m. June 16, police charged Kevin Ortiz, 21, of Lancaster, with DUI and disregard of a traffic lane after an incident on Quentin Road.
DUI – At 9:56 p.m. June 30, police charged Enoel Torres, 40, of Lebanon, with DUI and driving while suspended after an incident on West Cumberland Street.
Harassment – At 10:14 p.m. July 2, police arrested a 63-year-old Lebanon man on Acorn Drive for harassment.
Drug possession, disorderly conduct – At 10:22 p.m. July 3, police arrested a 23-year-old Lebanon man for possession of marijuana and another 23-year-old Lebanon man for disorderly conduct after an incident on Village Court.
Retail theft – At 3:38 p.m. July 5, police arrested Dawn Gonzalez, 53, of Lebanon, after an incident at Sheetz, 2150 Cumberland St.
Public drunkenness – At 9:50 p.m. July 9, police charged a 26-year-old Lebanon man with public drunkenness after an incident on Chestnut Street.
Solicitation without a permit – At 11:50 a.m. July 13, police cited a 26-year-old Malvern man for solicitation without a permit after an incident on Cornerstone Lane.
Warrant served, stalking – At 9:29 p.m. July 14, police arrested Nelson Houser, 30, of Newmanstown, for an active warrant and charged him with stalking after an incident on Springwood Drive.
Simple assault – At 2:02 a.m. July 17, police arrested Christopher Michlovsky, 50, of Lebanon, for simple assault after an incident on Byler Circle.
Vehicle accident – Around 6:21 a.m. Aug. 8, a vehicle traveling east on Route 422 lost control and damaged property at Major Key Motors and Dairy Queen. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Vehicle accident, warrant served – At 10:21 a.m. July 12, a vehicle driven by Yamaris Ortiz-Martinez, 21, of Lebanon, was traveling west on Chestnut Street when she attempted to turn right onto 22nd Street and lost control on a wet road. Police found that Ortiz-Martinez had a warrant out of the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Office. No injuries were reported. Police transported Ortiz-Martinez to LCCB.
Vehicle accident – At 9:44 p.m. July 13, a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old East Petersburg woman was traveling south on Colebrook Road when she lost control of her motorcycle and struck the median in the roundabout. Injuries were reported.
Vehicle accident, warrant served – At 11:17 a.m. July 16, a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old Hershey woman pulled out from a business on Chestnut Street and did not see an oncoming vehicle driven by a 74-year-old Palmyra man. The vehicles collided. Joshua Billet, 39, of Windsor, was a passenger in the Hershey woman’s vehicle and was found to have a warrant out of York County. Billet was transported to LCCB. Two people were transported to the Hershey Medical Center for injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Vehicle accident – At 10:43 a.m. July 24, a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old Lebanon man was traveling west on Rocherty Road and slowed down to turn right onto Village Drive when a vehicle driven by a 52-year-old Pine Grove woman attempted to pass on the left. The Lebanon man changed his vehicle direction and attempted to turn left, and the vehicles collided. No injuries were reported. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
Vehicle accident – At 5:01 p.m. July 24, a vehicle driven by a 53-year-old Hummelstown man was traveling west on Rocherty Road when a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old Newmanstown man pulled out from Blackford Boulevard, and the vehicles collided. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Retail theft – At 1:40 p.m. July 24, police arrested a 31-year-old Grantville woman after an incident at Sheetz, 2150 Cumberland St.
Pedestrian struck – At 3:41 p.m. July 25, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Cornwall Road and Wilhelm Avenue. The pedestrian was transported to the Hershey Medical Center to be medically treated.
North Londonderry Township
Vehicle accident – At 10 a.m. Aug. 4, police responded to the intersection of South Forge Road and Leon Avenue. A vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Lebanon woman rear-ended a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old Annville man while he was initiating a left turn. No injuries were reported. The man’s vehicle required towing. A citation for following too closely was filed against the woman with MDJ Warner’s Office.
Criminal mischief – Police charged a 14-year-old Palmyra male juvenile following an investigation into several hundred dollars in damages that was done to five trampolines and an above-ground pool at various locations in the township between July 6 and 12.
Vehicle accident, DUI – At 2:40 a.m. July 5, police responded to a single-vehicle crash on the 900 block of Hoffer Road and arrested Nicholas Grumbine, 19, of Palmyra, for suspicion of DUI following the investigation. Grumbine’s BAC was 0.139% at the time of the incident. Police charged Grumbine with DUI-high rate, DUI-general impairment, DUI-minors, careless driving, driving at safe speed, and failure to keep right.
Swatara Township
Hit-and-run – At 5 p.m. July 19, an electric bike operated by a 20-year-old Lebanon woman was traveling west on Heilmandale Road when an unknown vehicle that was traveling west on Heilmandale Road struck the electric bike from behind. The unknown vehicle failed to stop and headed west on Heilmandale Road. The woman sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported via Life Lion EMS to the Hershey Medical Center.
Union Township
Drug possession – At 12:37 p.m. Aug. 1, police pulled over a 2010 Mercury driven by Steven Shackelton, 45, of Lebanon, on the 2600 block of SR 72 for multiple traffic violations. Police found that Shackelton was in possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Western Lebanon County Regional Police
PFA order violation – On Aug. 2, police took Jason Johnson, 42, into custody for violating a PFA order. Johnson sent texts to the victim, despite being ordered not to have contact with the victim. Police transported Johnson to LCCB to await arraignment.
Simple assault – At 5:20 p.m. Aug. 3, police responded to the 300 block of Palm City Park for an active domestic dispute. When police arrived on the scene, they learned that Bradley Hoffer Jr., 33, struck another person in the face, causing injury. Hoffer fled the area, but police later found Hoffer, took him into custody for simple assault-harassment, and transported him to LCCB for arraignment.
Warrant served – On July 30, police pulled over a vehicle registered to Tijuana Gibson, 62, who showed to have an active felony warrant for retail theft, on the 100 block of West Main Street. Police took her into custody without issue. Gibson was transported to LCCB and was picked up by the Berks County Sheriff’s Office.
Curfew ordinance violation – Around 1:45 a.m. Aug. 6, police located two juveniles, including a 16-year-old, walking along Main Street near the square. Police transported the juveniles home and cited them for their third curfew ordinance violation.
Retail theft – On Aug. 8, police filed charges of felony retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft against Malike Brittain, 29, through MDJ Warner’s Office after an investigation into an incident on March 30, 2023, in which Brittain and another male entered T-Mobile, 901 E. Main St., Palmyra, removed a security cable from a display phone, and left the store. Police identified Brittain as one of the actors after he was arrested for similar conduct in Allegheny County in 2024.
Warrant served – At 10:45 p.m. Aug. 7, police responded to the 200 block of South Long Street for a well-being check and learned that Koye Brown, 27, had an active bench warrant for retail theft out of Lebanon city. Police placed Brown under arrest and transported him to LCCB without issue.
Public drunkenness – Around 6:46 p.m. July 29, police were called out to the 200 block of North Railroad Street to investigate a report of a female subject who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police identified the 57-year-old woman and found her to be under the influence of alcohol to the extent that she was a danger to herself or others. Police filed a non-traffic citation for public drunkenness against her.
Open lewdness, disorderly conduct – Around 7:44 a.m. July 28, police responded to the 900 block of Royal Road for a report of a male subject walking around naked. Police arrived on the scene and observed the subject, who was not wearing any clothes, walking through private property. They identified the subject as Nestor Peraza, 24. EMS was called to the scene, and Peraza was transported to the hospital for evaluation. On July 31, police filed a criminal complaint for misdemeanor open lewdness and misdemeanor disorderly conduct against Peraza.
