PennDOT announced Tuesday that work will begin this week on a half-million dollar rehabilitation project for a bridge on Route 22 in East Hanover Township.
The bridge spans a tributary to Raccoon Creek between Coon Creek and Jonestown roads.
Rehabilitation work will include repairs to the existing concrete arch structure, scour repairs, clearing and grubbing, tree removal, and other miscellaneous construction.
PennDOT said the project is expected to have only minor traffic impacts, with shoulder closures as needed. Still, PennDOT asks that motorists be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
Lobar Site Development Corp. of Dillsburg is the contractor for the $523,304 project. PennDOT said that work is expected to be completed no later than Oct. 31.
