North Londonderry Township police announced Friday, Aug. 16, that they have filed charges against 54-year-old Palmyra man over the alleged sexual assault of a child.
Police said that Chandra Subedi was charged following an investigation into a report of sexual assault involving a minor over a two-year period.
“Subedi was in a caretaking role of the victim and assault(ed) the victim at numerous locations between the time frame of the victim being 12 years old to 14 years old,” police said in a statement.
Subedi faces five felony charges: indecent assault of a child, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, and unlawful contact with a minor. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old.
Subedi was arraigned Wednesday, Aug. 14, in front of Magisterial District Judge David Warner.
According to court document, Subedi was briefly remanded to Lebanon County Correctional Facility before posting bail, set at $25,000.
Subedi next faces a preliminary hearing in front of MDJ Warner on Sept. 5 at 8 a.m.
