The Myerstown Community Library is hosting its annual book sale the second weekend in September.
The sale will be held in the Myerstown Borough Building at 101 S. Railroad St., Myerstown, and will feature a wide selection of books at affordable prices. Proceeds from the sale fund library programs.
The book sale will take place 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 14. There is a $5 entry fee for early bird bookworms Friday night, which allows attendees to survey all the books before the sale opens to the general public on Saturday morning. During the final hour on Saturday, bags are provided for the $5 bag sale.
A variety of books will be on sale, including fiction and nonfiction, cookbooks, crafting and hobbies, health and wellness, sports, philosophy, history, and more. Items for sale also include totes, stickers, and hats with the Myerstown Community Library logo. There will also be a bake sale of homemade goodies and sweet treats, as well as a visit by the Munchiez Food Truck on Saturday.
Myerstown Community Library Director Sarah Bair said the annual book sale is a great way for the library to provide literacy resources for the community at an affordable price. The sale also supports the library’s mission of providing free access to books, magazines, computers, Wi-Fi services, research materials, and adult and children’s activities for the Myerstown/ELCO area.
Volunteers are also needed to help set up, tear down, and manage the sale. Each volunteer will receive a $5 voucher to use at the book sale. Contact the library at 717-866-2800 for more information.
