LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
Our Pet of the Week is sometimes available for adoption through a local shelter. Other times the weekly column will spotlight a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home.
This week, meet Karliah!
Karliah was born a farm kitten in the fall, but was separated from her mother and found hiding in a garage, cold and tired. She and brother Noely were soon brought to the Bixler family by a neighbor who felt they could use a little extra love from kitties.
While the Bixlers at first planned to rehome the kittens, they soon accepted them as new members of the family. Twelve years later, Karliah still lives with Emily Bixler and enjoys spending her nights cuddling up in bed.
While she doesn’t care for Emily’s other cats, she’s grown a soft spot for little sister Teary, a 2-year old runt who wormed her way into her heart.
Karliah is a stubborn soul, who recently came out the other side of a sickness her mom worried she wouldn’t survive. In fact, since recovering she’s regained her voice; Karliah has always been a talkative girl.
Cantankerous, cuddly Karliah is a beloved part of the Bixler household, which has since expanded to include four other cats!
Congratulations to Karliah for being this week’s LebTown Pet of the Week!
