Bethel Township

Vehicle accident – At 1:43 p.m. Oct. 4, a 2019 Ford Transit driven by a 33-year-old Grantville man was traveling north on Camp Strause Road. A 2024 Subaru Outback driven by a 67-year-old Fredericksburg woman was traveling south on Camp Strause Road. The Ford entered the southbound lane and struck the Subaru, sustaining functional damage. The Subaru sustained disabling damage. The man was wearing a seatbelt and wasn’t injured. The woman was wearing a seatbelt and sustained a possible injury but was not transported. Police charged the man with a driving on right side of roadway violation.

Simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, reckless driving – At 5:13 p.m. Oct. 4, police responded to the 00 block of Sunrise Court for an incident in which a 70-year-old Lebanon man appeared to intentionally swerve his vehicle towards an individual. An uninvolved witness on the scene confirmed the arrestee’s actions. The arrestee is awaiting arraignment and a preliminary hearing to be scheduled.

City of Lebanon

Receiving stolen property – On Oct. 7, police charged Miriam Naimi, 22, after police responded to a report of a burglary on the 100 block of North 9th Street.

Simple assault, disorderly conduct, possession of an instrument of crime – On Oct. 6, police charged Cassius Root, 44, after an incident on the 200 block of East Cumberland Street.

Agricultural crop destruction, fleeing or attempting to elude officer – On Oct. 4, police charged Travis Sutherly, 41, with agricultural crop destruction, agricultural vandalism, fleeing or attempting to elude officer, resisting arrest, and driving while suspended after police attempted to take him into custody on the 800 block of Jonestown Road on an outstanding warrant.

Drug possession – On Sept. 26, police charged Roy Bupp, 62, with possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on the 400 block of Guilford Street.

Drug possession, public drunkenness – On Sept. 29, police charged Ivan Swift, 28, with possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness after responding to a suspicious person call on the 900 block of Cumberland Street.

Drug possession – On Sept. 29, police charged Eddiean Naphtali, 18, with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and drivers required to be licensed after a traffic stop on the 200 block of North 8th Street.

Drug possession – On Sept. 28, police charged Angel Cruz-Rigual, 31, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on the 400 block of South 8th Street.

Drug possession – On Sept. 28, police charged Quinn Campbell, 24, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on the 400 block of South 8th Street.

Drug possession – On Oct. 6, police charged Victor Desimone Jr., 46, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on the 200 block of South 9th Street.

Burglary – On Oct. 9, police charged Michelle Spidel, 35, with burglary after an incident on the 300 block of North Plum Street.

Institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, open container – On Oct. 3, police charged Tyler Picariello, 29, after an incident on the 800 block of Cumberland Street.

Drug possession – On Oct. 7, police charged Nicholas Snyder, 36, with possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on the 300 block of South 2nd Street.

Drug possession – On Oct. 8, police charged Justin Lisk, 29, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on the 900 block of Scull Street.

Arrest warrant – On Sept. 27, police issued an arrest warrant against Jedia Echevarria, 19, with the original charge being aggravated assault.

Arrest warrant – On Oct. 10, police issued an arrest warrant against Victor Desimone Jr., 46, with the original charge being possession of a controlled substance.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle accident – Around 6:57 a.m. Oct. 8, a 2016 Ram 5500 driven by an 18-year-old Newmanstown man accompanied by a 19-year-old Womelsdorf man was traveling north on SR 501. A 2006 Ford F250 Supercab driven by a 71-year-old Myerstown man was traveling south on SR 501. The Ram crossed the double yellow lines and struck the Ford, and both vehicles sustained disabling damage. The Ram’s driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was extricated after being entrapped in the vehicle. The driver sustained a suspected serious injury, and his passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained a suspected minor injury. Both were transported via Schaefferstown EMS to Hershey Medical Center. The Ford driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. A load of baled hay was dislodged from the trailer of the Ford, scattering the bales across the roadway. Schaefferstown Fire Company assisted on the scene. Police charged the Ram driver with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Jackson Township

Vehicle accident – Around 2:59 p.m. Oct. 4, a crash occurred at Millardsville and Tulpehocken roads involving a 2020 Kia Soul driven by a 72-year-old West Chester man and a 2012 Volkswagen Routan driven by a 53-year-old Richland woman. Police charged the man with a stop and yield sign violation.

Vehicle accident – At 3:50 p.m. Oct. 3, a 2010 Volkswagen Golf driven by an 18-year-old Newmanstown man accompanied by a 16-year-old Myerstown boy and a 2017 Toyota Camry driven by a 38-year-old Lebanon man were traveling east on West Lincoln Avenue. The Toyota slowed as it approached a traffic signal, and the Volkswagen struck the Toyota. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. All occupants were wearing seatbelts and sustained no injuries. Police charged the Newmanstown man with following too closely and the Lebanon man with driving while suspended.

North Lebanon Township

Tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest – On Oct. 8, police charged Ivan Swift Jr., of Lebanon, with tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct. Swift was warned for yelling outside of his home. Police responded to the residence again and arrested him. Swift refused verbal commands and threw paraphernalia under furniture.

North Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident, careless driving – At 2:11 p.m. Oct. 4, a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Lebanon man struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a 62-year-old Annville man, which then struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old Palmyra man on the 1300 block of East Main Street. The front-seat passenger in the Palmyra man’s vehicle was transported via EMS to a local hospital. The Lebanon man’s and Annville man’s vehicles were towed. The Palmyra man was able to drive his vehicle from the scene. Police charged the Lebanon man with careless driving.

Vehicle accident – At 6:43 a.m. Oct. 8, a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Annville woman rear-ended a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Annville man in the area of Plaza Drive and Killinger Road. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

South Lebanon Township

Drug possession – Around 2:42 a.m. April 7, police pulled over a vehicle on East Cumberland Street and learned that the driver, Christian Cruz, 47, was in possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Police charged Cruz with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Possession, sale, or use of display documents, drug possession – Around 9 p.m. April 25, police pulled over a vehicle on East Cumberland Street and determined that the registration plate displayed did not belong to the vehicle. Police also learned that the driver, Omar Santiago-Marte, 43, was in possession of a controlled substance. Police charged Santiago-Marte with misdemeanor possession, sale, or use of display documents and two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone) without a prescription.

Sale or transfer of firearms – On March 16, Jesse Smith, 43, attempted to have a firearm he won in a raffle transferred into his name while not being legally permitted to possess a firearm. Police charged Smith with felony sale or transfer of firearms and misdemeanor unsworn falsification to authorities.

DUI, careless driving – Around 3 a.m. Sept. 2, police responded to a crash in the area of South 5th Avenue and East Walnut Street and learned that one of the drivers, Jordan Sponenberg, 26, was under the influence of alcohol. Sponenberg’s BAC was 0.115% at the time of the crash. Police charged Sponenberg with misdemeanor DUI-high rate of alcohol, misdemeanor DUI-incapable of safe driving, and summary careless driving.

Found dog – On Oct. 7, the dog pictured below was found near the Cedar Haven Healthcare Center in South Lebanon Township. A passerby picked up the dog and contacted South Lebanon Township police. The dog has no collar and is unable to be checked for a microchip at this time. Anyone with any information regarding the dog’s owner is asked to contact the county’s non-emergency dispatch number at 717-272-2054 or submit a tip through CRIMEWATCH.

South Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident – At 3:09 p.m. Sept. 10, police responded to the area of Palmyra Road and Horseshoe Pike for a crash and determined that a vehicle driven by a 53-year-old Palmyra woman made a turn from an improper lane, striking a vehicle driven by a 70-year-old Wallingford man. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

Vehicle accident – On Sept. 28, police responded to the area of South Forge and Hinkle roads for a crash and determined that a vehicle driven by a 34-year-old Hummelstown woman proceeded into the intersection without clearance and collided with a vehicle driven by a 75-year-old Lawn woman. A passenger was transported to a local hospital.

Vehicle accident – On Sept. 27, police responded to the area of South Forge Road and Northside Drive for a crash and determined that a vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Palmyra man turned from South Forge Road onto Northside Drive, ahead of a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Palmyra woman. While the woman reportedly yielded to a vehicle in the roundabout, the man’s vehicle rear-ended hers. No injuries were reported.

Harassment – Police charged a 57-year-old Harrisburg man with harassment by repeated acts following an alleged incident on the 2700 block of Horseshoe Pike at 3 p.m. Sept. 27.

Vehicle accident – At 5:58 p.m. Oct. 1, police responded to the area of Northside and Brookwood drives for a crash and determined that a vehicle driven by a 34-year-old Palmyra woman was traveling west on Northside Drive and was unable to stop her vehicle from colliding with a vehicle turning left onto Brookwood Drive. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police charged the woman with following too closely.

Vehicle accident – At 4:41 p.m. Oct. 9, police responded to the 500 block of Mount Gretna Road for a crash and determined that a 17-year-old Manheim boy lost control of his motorcycle and slid into the opposite lane, where the motorcycle struck a vehicle driven by a 73-year-old Mount Gretna man. The boy was transported via ambulance.

Vehicle accident – At 3:02 p.m. Oct. 9, police responded to Woodlawn Avenue and Fox Road for a crash and determined that a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old Palmyra man drifted into the opposite lane and struck a parked vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Police charged him with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Vehicle accident – At 7:30 a.m. Oct. 8, police responded to the 1500 block of Mount Wilson Road for a crash and determined that a 2024 Nissan Kicks driven by a 48-year-old Toms River, New Jersey, woman struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported.

Vehicle accident – At 3:35 p.m. Oct. 1, a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old Lebanon woman was traveling east on Horseshoe Pike, and a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Palmyra woman was stopped in an intersection, preparing to turn left onto South Forge Road. The Palmyra woman failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic, and the vehicles collided. Both women sustained injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police charged the Palmyra woman with vehicle turning left.

Vehicle accident – At 12:17 p.m. Oct. 1, a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old Elizabethtown woman accompanied by a 6-year-old boy was traveling west on the 5400 block of Elizabethtown Road when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a telephone pole. The woman sustained injuries to her arm and a concussion and was transported to Hershey Medical Center. The boy was uninjured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Union Township

Vehicle accident, careless driving – Around 5:14 p.m. Oct. 5, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 19-year-old Palmyra man accompanied by an 18-year-old Harrisburg man was traveling south on Bordnersville Road and negotiating a left curve at a reported speed of 50 mph. The driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle and struck a MetEd utility pole, which sheared off at the base and landed in the front yard of a home on the 300 block of Bordnersville Road. The Jeep sustained heavy front-end damage and was engulfed by fire. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and sustained suspected minor injuries but were not transported. They exited the vehicle before it was fully engulfed. Multiple fire departments assisted on the scene. The Jeep was towed by WM Carroll. Police charged the driver with careless driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Western Lebanon County Regional Police

Warrant served – On Oct. 4, police pulled over a vehicle on the 1000 block of East Main Street and took the driver, Jonathan Buchanan, 32, into custody on a warrant from the Adult Probation Office in Doylestown.

Warrant served – At 7:50 p.m. Oct. 5, police pulled over a vehicle on the 700 block of West Main Street for traffic violations. Police identified an occupant of the vehicle as Denise Pensel, 50, and found that she had three bench warrants out of Lebanon County for failure to appear. Police placed Pensel under arrest for the warrants and transported her to LCCB.

DUI, traffic violations – At 3:58 p.m. Sept. 8, police pulled over a vehicle on the 600 block of West Main Street for traffic violations. Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Michael Kerkeslager, 48, found that he was under the influence of alcohol and placed him under arrest for DUI. After receiving his blood test results, police charged Kerkeslager with two counts of misdemeanor DUI and three summary traffic violations.
